Happy Independence Day to each of you here in the United States!!
First off, I'd just like to take a minute to say thank you soooo much to each of the military families in our country that serve unselfishly to protect our freedom. We're so grateful to each of you for the sacrifices that you make on a daily basis. I know that several of you that visit me here at the blog-o are military wives, with hubbies that are currently deployed in other countries. Know that you are loved and appreciated, not just today, but all year long.
Bart and I had a great day yesterday. Some of our dear friends have a new baby (#3) and we got to go spend some time with them at the hospital. Those new babies are just about the sweetest thing ever. After that, we came home and spent some time together just hangin' out. I love Friday nights with my hottie hubs! (Who am I kidding? I love any night with my hottie hubs! Ha!)
As for today, we've got big plans to spend the evening with Bart's side of the family. We'll be going to the largest fireworks display in the area -- it's huge! -- but it will also be packed with thousands of other families just like ours. SO.....we'll go early this afternoon to stake our claim on the best spot in the park for watching the fireworks! Haha! We'll hang out on blankets and lawn chairs all day. We'll picnic and people watch and have a grand ole time and we'll end our evening with a fabulous fireworks display. It'll be great. I won't mention that it rained overnight so the ground will be wet, it'll be hotter than heck and MUGGY besides, and the bugs will probably be out in force! LOL! But it's a family tradition. It's what we do lots of years on the 4th of July. And deep down, we love it! :)
I hope you have a fantastic weekend, whether you're celebrating Independence Day or not! And if you ARE celebrating, what are some of your 4th of July traditions?? I'd love to hear about them!
God bless America!
