Hi there, dear friends! It's the day after Release Night at Papertrey Ink which means I have a great big smile on my face and I'm breathing a huge happy sigh at the thought of another fun release under our belts. If you haven't checked out Papertrey's new home page, you should definitely check it out! Nichole designs the most ADORABLE home pages I've ever seen and this one is completely cute!! She outdid herself yet again! Plus, you can take a peek at all of the newest goodies in the Raspberry Suite line-up, if you'd like. The Background Basics: Woodgrain stamp set, Woodgrain Impression Plate, Dotty Biscotti patterned paper collection and Color Couture April Download are all there for your viewing pleasure.
I'm ready to start thinking about the next release and all that it will bring, but I'm so enjoying a little bit slower pace today! Riley and I ate lunch out on the deck, enjoying some of the gorgeous sunshine we're having. I actually got my full work out in this morning (after having to cut it short or skip it all together with all the work to be done earlier this week) which felt awesome. Now I'm preparing to tackle the 1,000 photos that we took on vacation in Australia, so I can edit them and blog some of them. I'm SO looking forward to sharing them with you!! In the meantime, I have some more fun projects I made for this month's Papertrey release that I thought I'd share.
Just imagine -- you could easily recreate this card using ANY school's colors to totally customize the card for it's recipient!! And by using the graduate's school colors, this card would be perfect for guys OR girls! BONUS!
Here's another card I created using Year of Flowers: Sweet Peas. I stamped the flowers on a kraft card base and colored the leaves with the T1 and T4 Copic markers just to give them some shading. Then, I stamped the flowers again on a piece of orange zest Dotty Biscotti patterned paper and then colored just part of the flowers with the R24 Copic. I cut out those flowers and adhered them over the top of the flowers on the card base, with foam adhesive.
Next up is a happy little card that I just love. I paired some Dotty Biscotti patterned paper with Green Boutique patterned paper as well as some kraft, vintage cream, hawaiian shores and aqua mist card stocks. The plane and banner are from Becky Oehlers' new Fly Away stamp set. Just adorable, right?
Check out the cool background behind the plane! That is aqua mist card stock that I ran thru my Big Shot with the new Woodgrain Impression Plate. Then I took a sponge and gently rubbed Hawaiian Shores ink over the woodgrain pattern to give the color a soft variegated effect. I love how it turned out.
And lastly for today, a card using Nichole Heady's Enjoy the Ride stamp set. Could that car be any cuter? I don't think so! I used the Woodgrain Impression Plate on the dark chocolate card stock to create a fun background for the card.
I used the Enjoy the Ride die to cut out the car before I stamped it (LOVE the professional looking cut you get with these dies) and used the Mat Stack 1 die (again, I KNOW!) on some raspberry fizz Dotty Biscotti to layer the card on. For complete supply lists on all of these projects as well as the other designers' projects, see the Design Team Gallery.
I hope that you're enjoying your Thursday (or Friday, depending on what part of the world you're reading this in). *wink*
Tomorrow I'll be back with another couple of fun cards to share with you....it's my first Papertrey Newsletter post as part of the Senior Design Team. I'm excited to show you what I cooked up. :)
Thanks for popping in, Peeps!
