Just a few things that are making me happy today....
- Thinking about the fact that my two "most favoritist littles" will be coming to stay with us in a couple of weeks. (niece - Ally - age 2 and nephew - Malachi - age 1) Well aware that I will be exhaaaaaaausted when they leave, but completely heart-melty at the thought of having them here, all to myself mostly, for a few days.
- Thinking about how my sister, Diann, called me the other day and when I answered the phone, my niece Ally (age 2) said, "Hi, Auntie Dawn!" in her sweet little baby girl muppet voice.....and my heart melted into a puddle of mushy love stuff right there on the love seat in the family room. Ohhhh, what that little doll-face does to me! I'm completely smitten.
- Thinking about the fact that my sister, Diann, has another little doll-face on the way!!!! And daydreaming about whether it's a boy or a girl. Diann is preggie with baby #3 and of course, we're just over the moon about it!! Granted, when the baby comes, she'll have a 3 year old, a 2 year old and a newborn -- talk about havin' your hands full! Haha. But this here Auntie is suuuuuuuper excited about the new arrival (knowing of course that it won't be ME up in the middle of the night each night - hee). I can't wait to meet the new little bundle (next year) and find myself wondering what the little sweetpea will be like. Happy sigh.
- Tomatoes - We planted 4 different tomato plants earlier this year but most of these pictured are from our Rainbow heirloom plant. That thing has just gone crazy with tomatoes! YAY!
- Tomato & Feta Salad - Dice fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes. Add generous portion of crumbled feta cheese. Add whatever freshly chopped herbs you prefer -- I like parsley & chives. Drizzle with your favorite Italian or vinaigrette type dressing, mix and enjoy! Simple and delicious.
- Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes - They're baaaaack. Haven't had one yet but I hear them calling my name.
- Good books - In all honesty, I've not been reading near as much lately, since I'm not working out. I typically read for an hour every day while I'm on the elliptical but since I've still got stitches, I'm not supposed to be working out, which has in turn meant less reading for me. However, I'm currently reading Sixteen Brides by Stephanie Grace Whitson and so far I'm enjoying it.
- Havin' an absolute swoonfest over this Cubby Organizer from Pottery Barn! I don't have one but I'm chompin' at the bit to order one......or maybe two. :)
Dreamy, right?
How about you? What's making you happy today?
