Remember me? I used to come around here every day or so chatting about one thing or another. As you may have noticed, it's been a few days.
Well, dear readers, let me just say this. I wish you lived closer because if you did, I could call and see if you wanted to come over for a chat. You'd say, "Of course" and you'd show up an hour later, with Starbucks, because you always bring Starbucks when you come for a chat. You're sweet like that.
We'd head straight up to the studio to chat because where better to chat than in a room surrounded by colorful jars of buttons and stacks of ribbons and papers and stamps? You totally agree with me on this one! You'd sit at the white desk (where Miss Ruthie, the sewing machine, is) and I'd sit at my desk and I'd tell you that I've started reading a new book (while on the elliptical each day) that I'm loving so far (more info coming soon) and that I'm still DVR'ing old episodes of Laverne & Shirley that I watch each day while I eat lunch. You'd ask how our New Years Eve was. I'd tell you that it was lovely....that we enjoyed a quiet evening at home, just the three of us. Well, technically, just the two of us since Riley snoozed the night away. And then I'd tell you how the new year seems to have brought with it a whole lot of work to be done and how I've been busy checking things off the never-ending to-do list. I'm sure I'd mention that I've felt bad for not blogging this week but that I've been so engrossed in "graphic design mode" working on future product designs, that I haven't spent any time in the studio for several weeks and haven't even taken many photos with Laverne, my trusty Nikon.....hence, the part about not blogging. You'd totally understand, because you're always so understanding, and you'd tell me not to worry....that no one can fault a girl for being busy because goodness knows, we're all busy these days! You're a very wise woman. I love it when you come for a chat....you always make me feel better.
I'd tell you that I *finally* got back in the studio last night and made a card to which you'd say, "HURRAH!!" and knowing you, you'd make a big fuss about how cute you think it is. You're always so encouraging! (thank you for that)
At last, we'd get crafty together.....you, at the white desk and me at my antique library table/desk. We'd make a whole stack of cards together.....starting with this one. And when we started to get hungry, we'd take a break for lunch and I'd fix you one of my famous chopped salads and you'd realize just how yummy a pile of chopped up veggies can be with a bit of dressing and a decent amount of feta cheese. :) We would laugh and laugh and probably laugh some more because laughter is so good for the soul. And then it'd be time for you to go.....so you could get home to start a big pot of soup for dinner. I'd give you a hug goodbye and send you on your way, grateful for my time with you and as we closed the front door, I'd smile to myself (and to Riley).
Sounds lovely, no? So sorry to have not been there with you these past few days. So many of you have told me at one time or another, that you have your morning coffee with me every day or that you visit me each day on your lunch break or in the evening after your littles have gone to bed. Please know that I think of each of you on those days when I don't have time to blog. I think of you and feel bad that you're having coffee, waiting on me to "show up" and know that I'm not there. I sort of feel like I've stood you up for a few days.....you know, like in You've Got Mail when Kathleen Kelly is waiting for Joe Fox to come to the coffee shop, but he doesn't come....or at least she doesn't know that he does! Ha. Anyway, I'm hoping to get back into the groove these next few days and the Papertrey Countdown is coming this weekend as well, so we certainly have lots of time together to look forward to.
I hope you've been having a fabulous week so far. I've missed you!! Thanks for stopping by today! (And thanks to those of you that have left comments or emailed to check on me.)
