Hello there! Happy February! I can't believe how fast January flew by and now that it's the first of a new month, that means that it's time for the Senior Design Team Challenge at Papertrey Ink. This month, our fearless leader (Nichole) has challenged us to pull out our Sweet Love stamp sets, dust 'em off and give 'em some love.
At first glance, Sweet Love might look like a set that's primarily for Valentine-y, lovey dovey type cards, but I've got a couple cards to share with you today that prove otherwise!
First up is a card for a sweet friend. I started out with a kraft card base and layered on some Distressed Dots patterned paper in summer sunrise. I added a strip of vintage cream grosgrain ribbon, looping it at the top.
The vintage cream card stock was die cut with the mat stack 5 die and stamped with two different flourish images from Sweet Love, in summer sunrise ink. Next, I die cut some kraft card stock with one of the limitless layers: 1.75" circle dies and then stamped a scalloped circle image from the Daily Designs stamp set in dark chocolate ink. I stamped the rectangle image from Sweet Love on vintage cream card stock with dark chocolate ink and cut that out with scissors and then did the same with one of the heart images (also from Sweet Love), stamping it 3 times, scoring each down the middle and layering them together with a bit of scor-tape. The "kindred spirits" sentiment from Sweet Love was the perfect finishing touch for a friend who really is a kindred spirit to me.
Next up is a fun little card that would be perfect for an anniversary or even a shower or wedding. This card base is made with rustic cream card stock and to that, I layered some more Distressed Dots patterned paper.
The mat stack 1 die and an image from the coordinating Mat Stack 1 Collection stamp set were used to create the rustic cream layer. Next, I stamped one of the oval images from Sweet Love on berry sorbet card stock using berry sorbet ink and then cut it out using decorative scalloped scissors. The heart image is one from Sweet Love, layered on a bit of fine linen ribbon and topped with berry sorbet buttons.
Along the bottom of the card is a row of tickets created with the just the ticket border die. The center ticket contains a tiny bracket image from Sweet Love as well as a circle image that was stamped on rustic cream card stock and die cut using the circle die from the Love Lives Here die collection. The ticket on the left contains a few of the hearts die cut from the centers of some of those circles, as well as the "Hugs & Kisses" sentiment from Sweet Love. The ticket on the right contains an image and sentiment from the Just The Ticket stamp set and the border stamped on each ticket is also from Just The Ticket.
Well, I hope you've been inspired today to brush off your Sweet Love set and put it to good use, or perhaps add it to your wish list if you don't already have it.
Be sure to visit Nichole Heady and the other girls on the Senior Design Team to see their Sweet Love projects too!
