Hi-ya.....happy Saturday! Today is my Grandma's birthday, so I thought I'd pop in to show you the card I made for her. My grandma is sweet and kind. She never has a bad thing to say about anyone. She can bake like nobody's business. And when I think of colors that make me think of her, it's pinks, peaches, creams, etc.
So, I started out with a vintage cream card base and inked the edges a bit with vintage touch tea dye ink. Next, I took a piece of berry sorbet card stock cut to a rectangle and used the mat stack 4 die to cut a piece out of the rectangle. I used that negative portion rather than the actual die cut shape.
I then stamped a coordinating image from Mat Stack 4 Collection on the card base using berry sorbet ink and used foam adhesive to adhere the berry sorbet layer around the stamped image. Then I piled on some fun die cuts........the aqua mist layer was cut with one of the Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" circle dies. The kraft layer was cut with the mat stack 2 die and then stamped and heat embossed, using a coordinating image from the Mat Stack 2 Collection stamp set. The vintage cream and small berry sorbet layers were cut with two dies from the Love Lives Here die collection.
Lastly, I used a bit of chocolate baker's twine to tie a tiny tag around the side of the berry sorbet frame. The tag was cut with the tiny tags die and stamped with a tag image from the Tiny Tags stamp set. The "happy birthday" sentiment is from the Tag-Its #1 stamp set.
Here's a picture I snapped of my Grandma with the littles (my niece and nephew) the other day. In a moment of photographic genius, you can see that I caught all 3 of them looking at one of the other cameras that was also snapping away! Haha. Ah well......at least you can see my sweet Grandma. :)
We'll be gathering with the rest of the fam to celebrate with Grandma today, though she doesn't know it at the moment. Aren't birthday surprises so much fun???
PLUS, we'll get to see Baby Zoey again, which I'm over-the-moon about! Haven't seen her since the day after she was born. That was 3 1/2 whole weeks ago! GAH.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend! See you tomorrow!
