EDITED TO ADD: Several of you have asked where I got the ceramic berry basket in the photos below. I found it at Anthropology. They had two sizes....this is the smaller one. Hope that helps!!
Hi there,
Welcome back to day 2 of the Papertrey Countdown! I've got some more fun projects to share with you today featuring the newest addition to my Raspberry Suite line of products -- the Heart Border Die! (This new die as well as all of the other new products releasing this month, will be available for purchase on December 15 (at a new time -- check Nichole's blog!) at Papertrey Ink.)
For today's card, I used a new stamp set that Nichole designed....in fact, you got a peek at the same set on one of yesterday's cards. And I might as well tell you that I'm so in love with this set that you're likely to see quite a few more projects with it too! Haha. It's a beauty! So I used said new stamp set and dies to create the flowers and leaves and adhered them to a raspberry fizz panel of card stock. Along the bottom, I stamped the "thank you" sentiment from the Mat Stack 1 Collection stamp set.
Now, did you notice that pretty little border on the top and bottom of the card? The one with the dainty little scallops? Were you wondering about that just a tiny little bit??? Well, let me just tell you that I made it with my new Heart Border Die!! The top edges of the hearts, actually create the prettiest tiny scallops ands I LOOOOOVE them!
For comparison purposes, the scallops on Papertrey's small scalloped border die are about 1/2" wide. The scallops on the new Heart Border Die are just a smidge bigger than 1/4" wide (5/16"). So these little scallops are almost half the size of the ones on the small scalloped border die. They're dainty and oh-so-sweet, don't you think?
I added a border of scallops just to the top and bottom of the raspberry fizz panel by adhering the hearts on the back side of the panel so that the tops peek out. But you could easily create a scalloped frame all the way around your focal point, by adding the scallops on all four sides.
Next up are a couple of little gift wrap options for you. I'm currently in Christmas wrapping mode, so these are a couple of Christmas gifts, but you could easily use the Heart Border Die when wrapping little packages for Valentine's Day, birthdays, just because treats, etc. Hearts never go out of style, do they? :)
When you buy a bead or charm at Pandora, they package them in these cute little triangle shaped boxes. They're cute, but they're also kind of plain and I've decided that I really, really like dressing them up! That's where having a stash of paper-crafty goodies comes in really handy! I added several layers here starting with a kraft doily cut with one of my Doily Details Dies, a raspberry fizz snowflake cut with one of my Damask Snowflake Dies, a bit of vintage book print cut with a Love Lives Here die and topped with a big ole pure poppy button! I wrapped some poppy baker's twine around the whole box a couple of times and tied it in a little bow. Just below the twine, I added a strip of hearts that was die cut with the Heart Border Die and topped each little heart with a rhinestone.
The above photo shows you what the box looks like from the side. Super simple to take it from a plain box to something really special!
Here's one more for you (yes, we have several ladies on our Christmas shopping list that love to get Pandora gifts!).
For this one, I wrapped it with a standard paper doily from the cake decorating section of the craft store and then added a strip of Heart Border Die aqua mist hearts toward the bottom of the doily. I stamped my favorite tag from the 2011 Holiday Tags stamp set on rustic cream card stock and used a limitless layers die to cut out the pure poppy scalloped circle. Tucked behind the tag is a sprig of sparkly leaves I snipped off a large cluster from the craft store.
Thanks so much for sharing a bit of your day with me! I'll be back tomorrow with more Heart Border Die fun! Until then, you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady as well as Heather Nichols and Melissa Phillips for today's featured sneak peeks. Lisa Johnson, Melissa Bickford and Beth Silaika will also have peeks for you at their newest sets.
Take care and I'll see you soon!
