Happy New Year!!! Goodness me, it's 2013....I'm not sure how that happened so fast! Of course, it's also the first day of the month which means it's time for the Senior Team Challenge at Papertrey Ink!
AND January 1 is also my youngest sister's birthday!! Hope it's a great day, Glory! Love you!
So today, Nichole challenged us to pull out our All Booked Up stamp sets and create a card as well as little gift ensemble including a bookmark and some fun packaging for the bookmark. That led me to a fun little discovery....
I started out by making a bookmark using the Wine Bottle Tag die. I simply cut off the rounded top portion of the die cut, just above the score line. I stamped the frame image from All Booked Up on the bookmark using hawaiian shores ink and added a couple sentiments from All Booked Up in true black ink -- "There is nothing like a good book" and "This is where I fell asleep". (Haha...I love that one!) Next, I added some flowers and leaves from The Sweet Life, stamping the first layer on the flowers with berry sorbet ink and the top two layers with pure poppy ink. The leaves were stamped with new leaf and ripe avocado inks.
I ADORE the wine bottle tag die for bookmarks....I love the size of the bookmark!! But as if that wasn't a fun enough discovery, turns out that this "bookmark" fits perfectly in Papertrey's small glassine bags!! I simply added another flower and leaves to the front of the bag, as well as a bit of baker's twine and not only do I have a really pretty bookmark to give to a friend with the gift of a book, but I also have a gorgeous little bag to tuck the bookmark into. (My bookmark peeks out the top of the glassine bag, but if you don't want it sticking out at all, just cut your bookmark shorter.)
The flowers were all adhered with regular adhesive, to keep everything nice and flat (because who likes a thick bookmark messing their book up?!) and the nice thing is, my friend can also reuse the little bag for something else, if she'd like! Although, if I'm being completely honest, I just might be keeping this one for myself and making another for a friend! Haha!
I've also got a little card to share....perfect for tucking in with the book and bookmark! The card base is berry sorbet card stock, topped with a piece of pure poppy patterned paper and some pure poppy baker's twine.
I die cut come rustic cream card stock with the mat stack 3 die as well as the circle from the Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" circle die collection. The mat stack layer was stamped with hawaiian shores ink and the sentiment was added with true black ink. The circle image was stamped with berry sorbet ink. And peeking out from the bottom of the mat stack layer is a piece of hawaiian shores card stock that was die cut with a Doily Details die.
That's all for me today, but be sure and visit the other Senior Team girls, to see their All Booked Up projects!
