So every Christmas, I always talk about setting aside time to make gift tags to have on hand for gift wrapping. It's a project that I love every year -- both the making of the tags, and the wrapping with them! So today, I've decided to whip up some birthday gift tags to have on hand, because there are birthday gifts to wrap all year long, right? While I had the supplies out, I whipped up four gift tags in no time! I will use these for gift wrapping, but these could also be bundled together and given to someone else as a sweet little gift, just because.
To get started, I always die cut some tags and start laying out the stamps I want to use and in this case, some die cut layers to go behind the tags. By laying everything out like this, it allows me to make sure I get all of the colors that I'm working with, evenly distributed on each tag.
Next, I add in more layers.....strips of patterned papers here and there -- again, trying to make each tag different but using the same color scheme on each. In this case, pure poppy, raspberry fizz, melon berry and berry sorbet.
And here are the little ladies all lined up in a row. The tag images are all from 2012 Birthday Tags. In some cases, I stamped the image a second time, cut out a portion of the image and layered it on top of the larger image to get a bit of color variation on the stamped portion of the tags.
Each tag also includes some pretty little sequins (from Michael's) and each tag has at least one layer popped up with some foam adhesive.
I hope today's tags have inspired you to pull out your stamps and dies and whip up some birthday tags of your own! You'll be so glad you did, when it comes time to dress up that next birthday gift!! ;)
Thanks so much for being here today....I'll be back tomorrow for lots more Papertrey Ink Anniversary fun! See you then!
