Hi-ya Crew! After sharing some of the less-fun things we've had going on lately, the other day, I thought it'd be good to also share a bit of fun with you too!
I've told you before that I rarely leave the house and I wasn't kidding! We often laugh when we get to a Friday night and realize that I haven't left the house since the previous Sunday morning when we went to church together! Haha. So, I now have proof that this is true.....those of you that have been around awhile may remember back when we bought Gennie, the Genesis Coupe. We had decided to get a 'fun car' (read: basically a two-seater, sports car) for awhile, knowing that eventually we'd go back to having another SUV. At the time we got Gennie, we traded in a Hyundai Santa Fe, which we had had for seven years and loved.
Fast forward to now, four years later, and we decided it was time to trade Gennie in. Now that there are so many littles (nieces & nephews) that I might want to tote around here and there, I wanted to be able to do so without having to swap cars with Bart in order to haul little passengers. We started looking again at SUVs, and ended up getting a great deal on a new Hyundai Santa Fe. We got that great deal, due largely in part to the fact that we got an amazing trade-in on our 4 year old Genesis because she only had 19,000 miles on her!! Haha....I told you I never leave the house!
The Santa Fe has been updated a lot since the one we had before. One of my favorite things about this new version is the huge sunroof that spans the front and back seats!
We named her Sydney, because our previous Santa Fe was named Sofie, the Santa Fe and just like Sofie, Sydney, the Santa Fe just sounds good, right? Plus, Sydney and Sofie go well together. They also go well with Murray, the Murano, which is what Bartley drives. Yes, we name our vehicles. Don't you???
We also named her Sydney because we've been to Sydney and loved it. We've climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge and we were in awe as we saw the beautiful Sydney Opera House for the first time. We also named her Sydney, because Sydney makes us think of Australia, which makes us think of some of our dearest friends who just happen to be Aussies.
Yes, her name is Sydney. Perhaps I'll have to start leaving the house a little more often so that I can drive her. ;)
P.S. Bartley's calf injury update: He's improving daily. He's still using 2 crutches if he goes up and down stairs, but he's down to just 1 crutch when out and about and no crutches at all, if just hobbling around the house! The swelling is almost gone and the bruising is much lighter. We're hoping for just another week of physical therapy, but it could still be two weeks. Time will tell. :) Thank you so much for continuing to pray for us -- I can't tell you how much we appreciate it!
