Friends 'Til the End

Hellooooo and happy March!!  GAH.  I know I say it every darn month, but how is it possibly already the first of yet another new month?!  And not only that but we're just recovering from the "Blizzard of Oz" here in Kansas, and today it's March!  Haha!

Well, regardless of the snow, spring is in the air at Papertrey Ink as the senior design team focuses on the Friends 'Til the End stamp set for this month's senior design team challenge!  We were each challenged to use Friends 'Til the End to create a card and tag inspired by a photo found on Pinterest or elsewhere.

Here's the photo I chose to draw inspiration from....

I was super inspired by the watercolor theme as well as the long thin stripes of aquas and greens in the lower left corner of the palette.  I chose to use the watercolor element as well as those same aqua and green colors, as the basis for my projects.

I started out with the tag.  I die cut the flowers and leaves from rustic cream card stock with the Friends 'Til the End dies.  I stamped the flowers with hawaiian shores ink and the leaves with new leaf ink. Then, I used reinkers of the same colors as well as some water and a paint brush to smudge the lines of the stamped image and add a bit more color and shading here and there.  I left the centers of the stamped flower image alone and added a gem right in the center.

The tag was cut from hawaiian shores card stock with the Tag Sale #6 die and I stamped it with the frame from Boutique Borders: Mother before topping the tag with the flower and leaf images.

As for the card, I did the same thing for these flowers and leaves that I did on the tag.  

I stamped the card base with sentiments from Friends 'Til the End using true black ink and then ran the card front thru the Vagabond with my cane print impression plate.
