Hi there!
Happy June 1st! I'm always happy when June rolls around.....it's summertime, there is tons of color in our yard, my birthday will be here before I know it, we're eating corn-on-the-cob every chance we get and we're anxiously awaiting the ripening of all the tomatoes on our vines! The first of every month, also means that it's time for another Senior Design Team Challenge at Papertrey and this month, Nichole has challenged us to pull out our Simply Jane stamp sets and give them some love! Our challenge was to create a simple card and one more complex, using this lovely, classic stamp set.
First up, let's talk about the simpler of the two cards. I started out with a rustic cream card base and stamped the tiny rosette image in a repeating pattern on the left side of the card, using hawaiian shores ink.
Then, on a second panel of rustic cream card stock, I stamped the frame in dark chocolate ink, the silhouette in berry sorbet ink and the sentiment in hawaiian shores ink -- all from the Simply Jane stamp set. This panel was adhered with foam adhesive and a couple of enamel dots were added to this lovely lady's hair for an accent.
Next, I created the same card but with more colors and layers. :) I used the larger bouquet image from Simply Jane, to create the background pattern on the left, stamping the flowers in hawiian shores ink, the stems in new leaf and the bows in berry sorbet.
The silhouette was stamped directly on the second rustic cream panel, however this time a die cut frame was added with foam adhesive for extra dimension. The sentiment was stamped in two different colors -- hawaiian shores and new leaf. And behind the panel on the left, is a strip of hawaiian shores card stock that was die cut with the heart border die, as well as a strip of adhesive lace from Hero Arts. Lastly, a couple more enamel dots were added to her hair.
You'll want to be sure and visit the other girls on the Senior Team to check out their Simply Jane projects today too!
