Feelin' Good...

Hey there, Friends...

I am happy to report that I lasted 20 minutes on the elliptical today!  Now, I'm not gonna lie.....I figured out how to go slooooower so that I didn't DIE right there on the machine and that is largely why I was able to last so long.  When I first started out, I was going so fast that I wasn't sure which was going to fall off first, my calves or my thighs!  SO, I dialed down the turbo speed I was pumping out and decided to maybe work on staying on longer before I focus on staying on longer AND going at a break-neck speed at the same time.  We'll see how it goes.  The main thing is I got my heart rate up and I sweated!!  Both, very good things.  :)

In other news, I got to go have lunch today with Lori Craig and I am so glad!  I met Lori at CHA Summer last year and we've since discovered that she lives less than 2 hours away from me!  So I was so touched when she asked me to go to lunch with her today.....such a dear, she is.  We went to Oklahoma Joe's BBQ (remember - that's where we took our Aussie friends), had a yummy lunch and a great chat.  Thanks again, Lori.....we'll have to do it again!  Can't wait to see you at CHA next month!  

So anywho, let's talk about cards, shall we?!  I got to play along with Kristina Werner's color challenge tonight and I'm glad I did.  I just looooove those adorable shoes, don't you??  

It's a super simple card (cause the mojo just isn't flowing so much tonight) but I like how it turned out.  I had a scrap of really rust card stock laying around, already cut out in half of the top note die shape so I used that, added some stitching, ribbon, buttons and used my apron lace punch again.  Easy peasy!  The sentiment is from the new Vintage Picnic Sentiments set.

Kristina's Color Inspo. #52

Yippee....I'm getting time to play along on another one of Kristina's challenges.  I just love that girl........Kristina, thanks so much for doing these.  They're a lot of work, I know!  ;)  It's been awhile since I had time to play, what with our Hawaii trip and the Papertrey release, but I'm so glad to get to play along this week!  Great colors!

Ok, so I must say that these flower punches make it SO easy to create these fun flowers.  Just punch 'em, stamp on 'em, crinkle 'em up and stick 'em on your card!  And for the leaves, I punched out a circle, stamped on it and then cut it in half to make two leaves.  EXCEPT, instead of cutting the circle in half with a straight line, I cut an 'S' instead, leaving me two curvy halves of the circle.  Then, I crinkled 'em up and tucked them under my flower with some glue dots!  This is a super easy way to create some cute little leaves for your flowers!

Kristina's Color Inspo. #48

Hello there!  Happy Tuesday!  I finally got a card made for Kristina's color challenge this week.....just under the wire!  Such fun colors!  (Thanks, Kristina!)  

I broke out my "Offbeat" patterned paper collection pack from Basic Grey for this one.  All of the papers on this card are from that same collection.  I cut out the butterflies with my Bigz Beautiful Butterflies die and my Big Shot.  So fast and easy!  Then I just added a button from Papertrey along with some hemp twine.  The sentiment is from Papertrey's Mega Mixed Messages set.

Kristina's Color Inspo. #47

Hi All....

I finally got some time back in the studio today and boy, did it feel good!  I cranked out a few cards that I'll be sharing with you soon, but for today I thought I'd show you the card I made for Kristina's latest color challenge.  (Thanks, Kristina!!)  I stamped the large image from Damask Designs and cut it out, and then I added a few gemstones to it.  There are also some Polka Dot Basics on here and the sentiment is from Friends 'Til the End.

Kristina's Color Inspo. #45

Ok Crew.....back with another post for today.  Be sure to scroll down to see if you are one of the winners from my Anniversary Giveaway!  

This is the card I made for Kristina Werner's color inspiration challenge this week.  You know how much I love COLOOOOOOR so making a card that is basically void of all color totally goes against everything I believe in (LOL!) but I did it for Kristina!  :)  Hope you all like it!

I used some strips of Papertrey's Black & White Basics patterned paper and then I stamped some of my own patterns using Background Basics: Retro, Journaling Lines & my own Damask Designs.  

Here's some instruction on how to make this card.  Start with strips of patterned papers.  Then, cut a piece of white card stock that is the size that you want your patterns to cover.  Next, take those strips and adhere them diagonally on the white card stock, leaving the edges hanging off the sides of the white card stock.  Next, flip your white card stock over and trim off all of the ends of the patterned papers, using the edges of the white card stock as your guide.  When you're finished, flip your white card stock piece back over and you'll have perfect diagonal lines of patterned papers.  :)

Kristina's Color Inspo. #44

Hi there!  Happy Saturday!  I made this sweet little card for Kristina Werner's color inspiration challenge this week.  (THANKS, Kristina!)  Such a FUN color combo.....I've been a fan of pink and brown together for ages so this one was such a joy to create.  

I mixed a few stamp sets to create this card.  The border images are from the Simply Stationary set, the sentiment is from the Tags for Spring set and the leaf image is from the Beautiful Blooms set.  Isn't it fun to mix and match your stamp sets to get even more bang for your buck??  

We've spent a veeeeery lazy Saturday morning here, just hanging out and enjoying being together.  Basketball season is coming to a close this next week so my sweet hubby and I will have lots more time together and I can't wait!  In fact, he doesn't have a game tonight (first Sat. in months) so we're gonna go run around and goof off and probably finish off our day with a hot date tonight!  :)

Kristina's Color Inspo. #43

Hi all,

I'm back tonight with a card for Kristina Werner's color inspiration challenge.  Isn't this a fun card for the boy or man in your life??  I used Melissa Bickford's Men of Life set as well as her brand new Background Basics: Retro set to create the striped background and the scalloped background which kind of reminded me of waves.  :)

Bart reffed a game at the University of North Dakota last night and flew home early this morning to be back in time for his afternoon game today, only to find out that today's game had been cancelled because of all the snow!  Yippee!!  So tonight, we're totally hangin' out in front of the fireplace.  I think we'll watch a movie and order a pizza and just veg which I'm so looking forward to.  We took a nap today (LOVE that!  Ha!) and I've gotten some work done in the studio too.  It's been a great day.  

OH, did you ever wonder about that spikey thing in the photo above, that's holding my card??  Coming up next: a blog post all about it!  :)

Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge #40

Hi All, just a quickie post with my card for Kristina Werner's inspiration challenge this week and then in just a bit, I'll have another fun Papertrey post for you!

I stamped the border using one of the stamps from Papertrey's Simply Stationary set and the sentiment is from the Birthday Basics stamp set.  I cut out the flowers & leaves with my Cricut Expression and the Storybook die, added a bit of glitter and some buttons and voila!  Quick, fun and flowery!

Time again for another color challenge from Kristina Werner.  I'm so glad Kristina does these color challenges.....I so enjoy them.  This week's colors are very fun!  Thanks Kristina!

I used a couple of Papertrey sets to create this card -- the new Simply Stationary set by Candice Aguilar and the Paper Tray set of sentiments.  Doesn't that stamp from Simply Stationary just make the coolest border?  Love!  I also used some of the new Black & White Basics patterned paper - so elegant and fun.

Hope you're all doing well.  Bart and I were a bit under the weather the last couple of days but I think we're on the mend now.  SO glad tomorrow's Friday!  More goodies to share with you then.

Fun With Mish. (& a Kristina Card)

Hello, my friends.  Guess who I got to spend some time with today?  My fun friend and fellow Papertrey Design Team member, Mish Wooderson, came to 'the city' today with her friend Carmen and I ran over to meet them at Archivers for a bit!  That Mish is so fun....I'm so glad we live close enough to see each other now and then (and Carmen was super nice too!).....hope we can get together again before too long!  I had a ball!

As for my "Kristina card" for this week's challenge......I used Stampin' Up!'s "It's a Loop Thing" stamp set (the cupcake) and the sentiment is a rub-on from the Loop to Loop collection, also from SU!  The ribbon is Papertrey.  Oh, and I heat embossed those cupcakes with white embossing powder so the white would really pop.  Thanks Kristina!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!  It's a long one for us because of Martin Luther King Day on Monday.  So looking forward to that extra day off!  

Tomorrow we're going to my cousin's baby's first birthday party.  Still no news on the 'new niece or nephew front'!  I'll let you know though, as soon as there's news!  My family will likely be making another caravan road trip to go see them!  Eeee!  :)
