It is finally feeling like FALL here and I LOVE it!!! The temperature outside today was perfect......you know that temperature where you're not hot or cold.....you're just completely comfortable?? It was just so darn nice outside that I thought I'd snap a few pics. As you can see, the fall flowers are in full bloom. The leaves are just starting to change colors....it won't be long before the trees will just be beautiful.
We decided to galavant around today, enjoying this awesome weather. First stop: Louisburg Cider Mill! Ever been to a cider mill? Well, I've been there once before but when we were there, it was definitely not during their peak season so things were pretty quiet. NOT so today!! LOL! There were TONS of people there! They have a maze and hayrides, you can buy mums and pumpkins, they had live music and a big hot dog stand. They also have the entire cider operation set up so that you can walk around looking in different windows to see how the cider is actually made. The apple smell in the air was absolutely delicious! You can also buy food items and gifts in their 'country store' and of course, you can buy all the cider you want as well as Cider Donuts! Ever had one of these???? I had my first cider donut today and I have only one word for you.....YUMMO!!! Seriously! We brought a few home with us and I have to say that I'm very much looking forward to having another! LOL!!
After we left the cider mill, we headed to a fairly new little shopping village that has a fun arts & crafts store that I like to pop in, once in awhile. They have tons of Amy Butler fabrics that I like to drool over as well as an eclectic mix of supplies for knitting, jewelry making and of course paper crafting! (....and yes, I did make a small purchase! LOL!) Anyway....it's a cute place, huh?
When we left Briarcliff, we then decided to go up to a BIG shopping 'village' (HA!) called Legends. It's huge with lots and lots of great restaurants. Our pic for dinner was the Saddle Ranch Chop House. It's so cool looking outside.....they have a stagecoach suspended over the entrance outside (complete with mannequins in it!) and all kinds of different mannequins on balconies or riding horses or whatever. They also have a mechanical bull inside -- that's pretty entertaining to watch! Hahaha!!
All in all, today was a pefect fall day......one of 'my favorite things'. I don't know how many more days like this we'll get, where the weather and our schedules decide to cooperate on the same day! You know how that goes! But I'm so glad we got to have such a fun fall day today!
