HI there! I'm so excited to share today's card with you! When I saw that my super sweet friends, Wendy & Melissa had issued a challenge over at their blogs, I knew I wanted to play along right away! The challenge is to make a card using felt! That's it! So easy, huh? And fun too......who doesn't love a little fuzzy felt goodness now and then?!
I have to tell you that I LOOOOOVE this flower! I traced a flower from SU!'s die cut blooms onto the back side of a piece of tan felt. Then I cut out the flower. After that, I used 3 different colors of DMC embroidery floss to stitch the lines in the felt for the flower's center. SOOO easy. I adhered the flower to the card front with a large glue dot, which by the way, also helps to hold all of those stitches and loose ends in place.
As for the scalloped felt, I had a strip of dark brown felt that I just cut a scallop out of, literally by eye balling it. As you can see, it's not a perfectly straight scalloped edge, but I rather like it that way. Kind of adds to the homespun feel, don't you think? I used some adhesive to adhere the felt to the strip of Pure Poppy card stock and then punched holes with my paper piercer for easy stitching.
And notice the fun stamped layer beneath the flower? That is one of the images from Papertrey's Guide Lines stamp set. SUCH a fun set that I just got my hands on - I think I'm gonna be using it a lot in the future! I can tell you what I'm also likely to use a lot of and that is FELT! Wendy and Melissa - this challenge was GREAT fun and I'm so glad I got to play along! Thanks, Girlies!!
