HI Peeps!! How was your day? Ours was soooo fun! For years, I've wanted to go to the annual Holiday Open House that Mary Carol Garrity, owner of the Nell Hill's stores, has at her home in Atchison, Kansas. This, however, was the first year that we were able to make it and I'm so glad we did. That's Mary Carol with me in the photo above. She could not have been more warm and friendly. It was so, SO fun to meet her and get to chat for a minute. She's kind of like the Martha Stewart of home decor! ;) Check out the link above for info about her store as well as her products, including several books she's written.
This is the outside of her home. As you can see, there was quite a line waiting to get in. They could only allow so many in at one time, or we wouldn't have been able to move around in the house at all. Oh - and it was freeeeezing outside!
This is the scene that greets you when you walk in the entryway. Um, can I move in please?
Have I ever mentioned how much I LOOOOVE window seats???
How'dja like to be invited to dinner here??
Have I ever mentioned how much I love built in cabinets like these?
This is a view of part of her kitchen.
Have I ever mentioned how much I LOOOOOVE screened porches? Especially ones with fancy columns in them? Especially ones with Amelia Blue painted on the ceiling? Especially ones with a rug and cushy furniture on them??? Have I told you about that yet??
This is me on the screened porch, pretending that it's attached to the back side of MY house. (That's why I look so happy.)
Notice the fabulous patio area outside the screened porch, in the background. Swoon.
After we left the Garrity home, we had to stop in at the Nell Hill's Briarcliff location and of course, while we were there, we had to pop in over at Urban Arts & Crafts where they carry lots and lots of Amy Butler fabrics! Have I ever mentioned how much I loooove Amy Butler fabrics?? I'm trying to decide on fabric for valances for the windows in my studio. I didn't find just what I'm looking for, however I did choose some fun fabrics for more baby burpies.
These are what came home with me. Man, it was hard to choose!
Tomorrow we're off to Omaha to meet my friend Samantha for the first time! (Even though we've 'known' each other for two years!) Hee! Can't wait.
Night, Peeps!
