Hey there,
I've got a fun little last minute gift idea to share with you that you could totally whip up in time for Christmas.....a bit of framed art that I created for my studio using Papertrey's new Raspberry Fizz Mix patterned paper & classic grosgrain ribbon and Candice's new stamp sets, Forest Friends & Forest Friends Sentiments.
I saw some framed art awhile back that Ali Edwards created and I fell in love with it. So when I saw the new Raspberry Fizz Mix papers, I knew they'd be just perfect for some framed art of my own. I'm really pleased with how this turned out. And just think, you could do this same thing with any favorite patterned paper collection! You could also make these for friends or loved ones using colors that would coordinate in one of their rooms. You can customize the tag to say anything you'd like it to, including a baby's name. Wouldn't this make a cute baby name frame?
I also want to take a minute to share something with you. I don't know about you, but this Christmas season has been a fairly hectic one for me. Lots of projects and deadlines and on top of that, the usual 'lots of Christmas stuff to do'. Add it all up, and I've been a bit stressed and not fully enjoying this Christmas season like I should have been. But at church Sunday, the message may as well have been written just for me because it was all about not getting so caught up in the frenzy, and remembering to take time to PLAY! Seriously, in the midst of all the shopping and baking and parties and gift-wrapping, sometimes it's easy to be so caught up in the to-do list that we forget to snuggle up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and some apple cider and watch a Christmas movie with our loved ones. Or to plan a night with the fam just to play games. Or even to allow yourself time to cozy up with a good book and a latte or hot cocoa.
Today, as I'm wrapping up some projects that needed completing, I'm looking so forward to taking these next few days to soak up the season. To savor moments that remind me why it is, that we even celebrate this season. It's not all about the party schedules or giving gifts to 1,400 people on our list, or even making sure that every person we know gets a hand-made Christmas card from us (gasp!), but rather it's about celebrating Jesus' birth, and I for one, want to enjoy every minute of the rest of this season. I hope you'll join me.
Merry Christmas, friends.
