Hi All!! How are you today? I've been spending lots of time here in the Raspberry Suite studio (*wink!*) and I'm so excited to share some more fun Damask Designs projects with you so grab a cuppa, get cozy and let's get started!
This first card is SO fun and just goes to show you that Damask Designs can not only be paired with other Papertrey images and stamp sets, but also works fabulously with the Black & White Basics patterned paper collection! I added a heart from the Heart Prints set and of course, a New Leaf button. The 'I Love You' sentiment is one from Damask Designs that you've already seen. Don't you just love how the Damask patterns each look so different depending on what color scheme you choose for your card? This particular card would make such a fun non-traditional Valentine card.
Oh, and as for that ribbon treatment, notice how it's more 'ruffly' rather than 'pleated'?? Rather than using mono-adhesive all along the ribbon back before sticking it down, I actually used glue dots every so often to adhere the ribbon to the card front and then I sewed it down. The end result is a more puffy, ruffle-like ribbon treatment which I think is such a great, soft contrast to the bold, bright yellow on this card.
Ahhhhh........for those of you that prefer more traditional color combos, are you thinking to yourself, "Finally! She made a card in a 'normal' color scheme!" Haha!! I made this one just for you traditional, elegant girls! Two things to note about this card are the damask image, which is the largest single image in the entire set. It makes such a pretty damask pattern when you have a larger surface to cover. And the second thing to note is the sentiment which is the last of the sentiments to show you in the set.
How soft and elegant is this one?? I am just loving purple, cream and kraft together these days. This card is super simple to make but I think it looks so intricate because of all the detail in that damask image. I also took my vintage cream ink pad and used the 'direct to paper' technique by dragging the ink pad along the edges of the kraft card base. Such an easy technique that adds a soft, sweet touch to your cards.
Um, side note here: Notice the AWESOME coverage of that Vintage Cream ink??? Yum!
And lastly for tonight, a bonus 4th card for you! Hee! This one is just to show you how well Damask Designs can be used with other stamp sets in your collection! On this card, I paired it with the new Friends 'Til the End flowers that are so mod and fun and of course my all time fave, Polka Dot Basics! I added some new Vintage Cream buttons to the flower centers as well as some Diamond Stickles. ACK, this card makes me very happy!! :)
