Hi there!! I am SO pleased to finally introduce you to my first stamp set in the Raspberry Suite lineup, Damask Designs!!
(Pronounced \ˈda-məsk\) I designed this set to allow you to build your own damask patterns in a variety of different shapes, styles and sizes! Damask patterns are popping up everywhere these days......you can find damask on everything from fashion to dishes, and from bedding to rugs. It is becoming hugely popular and if you keep your eyes open the next time you go to Target or the mall or wherever you shop, I'll bet you just might see some.
Damask is not only very trendy right now, but it is also a timeless classic that you can return to over and over again. Depending on the colors you use, you can create classy & elegent cards with this set or you can create hip & trendy cards with sassy colors.
Every night this week (at midnight EST), I'll be back to show you lots more fun cards that I've made using this set so that you can see sneak peeks of all the images and sentiments that the set contains before release night (midnight EST on the night of the 14th) and I think by the end of the week when release night rolls around at Papertrey Ink, your creative juices will be flowing! I can't wait to see what amazing things YOU will create with this set!
The first card tonight features one of my favorite images from the set. If you'll notice, I stamped that image right side up all the way across the card. Then, on the next row, I flipped the stamp upside down repeating this process until the entire piece of Raspberry Fizz card stock was covered. I heat embossed the images with a clear embossing powder and I have to say that the Raspberry Fizz color is amazingly vibrant when heat embossed!
On this next card, I've used a different image from the set with vintage cream ink on kraft card stock. I used the same technique on this card by flipping some of the images upside down to vary the damask pattern. However, you don't have to flip them upside down if you prefer not to. You can stamp them all in the same direction. That's the beauty of this stamp set.....there are SO many possibilities for how many different damask patterns you can create! You can even mix and match some of the images to create an even larger variety of patterns!
As you can see on the flower, I also heat embossed some clear embossing powder before cutting the image out with a die. And doesn't that New Leaf ribbon just jump off this card?? I love that color! :)
And lastly tonight, one more card using the same image from the first card. I love how this image almost looks like a chandelier. :) This card is simple and elegant and could easily be recreated in any color scheme that you prefer!
Be sure to check back tomorrow for more fun sneakie peeks! I'll be sharing ideas for how to use this set in conjunction with sets you may already own as well as some fun ideas for cards using this set that you might not have expected! I think you'll be surpised at how versatile Damask Designs really is!!
And by all means, let me know what you think!! I'd love to hear from you.....I value your feedback!
See you tomorrow, Peeps!!
