Hey there! This month, Nichole challenged us on the Papertrey Design Team to create a gift and coordinating card using Heather Nichols' fun new sports sets -- All Star Team and All Star Team Additions. I decided to create a Game Day Gift Set that can be used as a "Just Because" gift for your hubby or any other sports lover in your life! I made a special sleeve/wrap for some major league baseball tickets and some special gift wrapping for a bag of peanuts and boxes of Cracker Jacks! And of course with any fun gift, there should be a cute coordinating card! ;)
Not only does this make a great Just Because gift, but it's also great for a birthday or other special occasion gift too. And just think, how fun would this be to have a baseball themed kids birthday party where you take the kids to a baseball game! You could create the special ticket wrap for the birthday child and then you could use the peanuts and Cracker Jacks as fun party favors for your guests!!
For my Ticket Wrap, I started out with a
medium glassine bag. I used my pinking sheers to cut off the top of the bag. I wanted to have that baseball logo sticking out the top of my wrap. Next, I slid the tickets in the bag and scooted them all the way over to one side. Then I folded the rest of the bag over, wrapping it around the back side of the tickets. All that was left to do, was to add some fun stamped card stock to the bag to create this handy little sleeve and the best part is, the tickets can just slide in and out so there's no need to rip up your wrapping to get them out! I wrapped the kraft card stock all the way around the tickets and adhered it to the glassine bag. The red card stock though, is just a piece that I stuck on the front of the kraft card stock.
Oh my gosh, this is a seriously fun (and AFFORDABLE!) treat that would make the best party favors! I used one of PTI's
large kraft window coffee bags, some card stock and twine! All that was left was to stamp up the bag and some card stock and put it together! Oh, and here's a fun little tip -- see the lines on the blue card stock? I stamped those using the 'lines' stamp from the
Journaling Lines stamp set, with
Fresh Snow ink. Don't you think it's a great little touch?! Reminds me of pinstripes on a sports uniform!
How fun is this?! I bought these Cracker Jacks in a 3-pack at Walmart but you could easily separate them and make a little belly band for each box and use them as party favors again, or they make a great little add-on when giving someone tickets to their favorite sporting event! So fun and again, you can't beat the price! ;)
And lastly, my card. Super simple and the best part is that if you're going the birthday party route, you could easily adapt this to create party invitations! I ran a piece of kraft card stock thru my paper crimper which always gives a bit of a masculine touch and I thought that it went perfectly with my kraft coffee bag! I love tying my theme together with coordinating elements like that!
I hope that this has inspired you to give a fun, sporty gift to someone you love! Do you see yourself having a themed birthday party or creating a gift "Just Because"??
