Hi Crew!! How the heck are you today?? I hope you're doing well and enjoying your weekend so far! I think we're gonna take a short little trip to a town that's about a half hour away from us that we hardly ever get to go to, for a little day trip today. They have an adorably quaint little downtown shopping district with original buildings from back in the day, however the shops are a great mix of random little mom & pop places as well as national chains like Gap and such. It's just a fun place to take a stroll thru and while we're there, we usually like to have a meal at this GREAT old BBQ restaurant that's been there forever! It looks really old and western-y inside so it's got a fun atmosphere plus the food is GOOD & CHEAP! Can't beat that! OH, and we'll have to pop in at Dunkin Donuts! Ha. We don't have one here so every time we go, which is only a couple times a year, we have to get Dunkin Donuts. I SO remember my Dad getting us "Munchkins" (donut holes) from Dunkin Donuts when we were kids.....we thought they were SO cool! LOL!
Ok, so enough about me....let's talk about this week's color challenge! As you can see, we're going kind of monochromatic this week and I LOVE it! I know, I know......I can hear some of you already......."but there are 5 WHOLE COLORS again????" Hee. Trust me -- you can DO this! The vanilla and kraft are neutrals so they don't count! LOL!
This is a photo that I took at one of my favorite home decor stores --
Nell Hill's. I've showed you photos from there before -- I love to take my camera when I go, because everything is so beautiful. I'm always totally inspired when I step inside that store! They have a room upstairs that's full of upholstery fabrics so you can choose one of the myriad of chairs they have around the store and get it custom-covered with the fabric of your choice. I just loved these 3 fabrics together. Ignore the purple in the background.....we're just focusing on the 3 fabrics in the foreground.
One thing to be mindful of as you work on this week's challenge.....not all soft pinks are going to coordinate with all reds. If your red is too orange and your pink has too much blue in it, they might clash! You know me and color.....it's things like this that I try to think about when I'm putting colors together for my own cards and since you girlies are always asking me about color combos, I thought I'd throw that little tip out there to try and help you to learn and feel better about your own color combos. :)
ETA: Some of you have asked about the berry color. It is not orange. It is a medium pink with a bit of a coral tint to it. Think Berry Sorbet by Papertrey Ink! Hope that helps! All righty, here are the deets:
