Hi-ya! This month at Papertrey, Nichole asked each of us on the design team to create a card and gift packaging using the brand new Star Prints set that she designed that will be available on the 15th! This set is SO fun to use and has the COOLEST fonts for the sentiments! Seriously....the coolest! I think you're gonna love this set!
You know how sometimes there's someone in your life that just needs a little encouragement? Just a little pick-me-up, just because? Well this gift fits that bill perfectly. I bought a fun set of coordinating bracelets and I wanted to create some custom packaging to put them in so I used the Captured Card Case Timeless Template to create a gift box. This inexpensive gift looks extra special when you create some special packaging to give it in! And the template download is just $5 and you can use it again and again to create as many of these little boxes as you want!
This particular template is so cool because you attach the lid to the box so it flips open as though it's a hinged lid. So handy! The bracelets fit perfectly inside the box, tucked in a bit of tissue paper.
Here is a view of the top of the box. I decorated the top of the box just like I would the front of a card. The sky's really the limit as to how many different ways you can customize this box yourself!
Do you notice a few stamps on this one that you haven't seen before??? ;) There are peeks at several new sets on this box! Of course, Star Prints is the FABBY new set that features lots of different stars and star related sentiments including this very versatile "Enjoy Life" sentiment. I {HEART} this set! AND, here's a fun little find. See that AMAZING flourish image? The orange one? THAT, my friends, is from another new set that Nichole will be giving you a peek at later this week. That big flourish coordinates with this star/flourish image from Star Prints! How cool is that?! I personally love this particular flourish set because it's not too formal or too casual.....it's just right. Of all the flourish stamp sets I've seen, this one is by far my favorite. A total must have for layering on your cards and projects along with other stamp sets. A well-placed flourish can add such a cool touch to so many projects!
Another sneekie peek here.....notice the gray text? That's from another new stamp set coming out on the 15th! This one's called Background Basics: Text Style and it's a set of different text stamps that are so perfect for creating really cool backgrounds. Text backgrounds are so popular right now and this one is sure to be a hit! I loooove it!
As for the color combo here, I used Papertrey's aqua mist, melon berry, vintage cream, dark chocolate & kraft, and with all of that, I decided to throw in some really rust from Stampin' Up! It's a great darker orange that goes so well with the melon berry and I think when you throw in that bit of chocolate and aqua, it's such a cool combo!
Ahhhhh......and the coordinating card. So many things that I love here. The stars the flourish, the text, that FONT, :) the top note die......and a super fun color combo!
As for that top note die, here's something cool that you can do. You might be looking at it thinking, "Wait a minute....that top note doesn't look as wide as it normally is!" Well, that's because it's not! I needed it to be a big shorter in order to fit the spacing on my vertically oriented card so I cut a strip out of the middle of the top note shape, and then adhered both pieces of it to the back side of the vintage cream card stock. By doing this, you can have those fabulous top note curves popping out from behind all kinds of focal points on your projects!! Love that!
I hope that you've been inspired today, to create a thoughtful little gift to give to a friend to encourage them. It's nice to know that for just a few dollars, you can give someone a treat that looks super special and is sure to brighten their day. I have a certain dearie in mind for this gift and I hope it will encourage her just a bit.
Be sure to visit all of the other design team members to check out their gift ideas using the new Star Prints stamp set!! Hope you have a fabulous week!
