I know some of you have been anxiously awaiting photos of our weekend visit with our dear friend, Pam. I picked her up at the airport on Friday afternoon and we went straight to Bravo for a little Italian food for lunch. She and I walked around the Zona Rosa shopping area for a bit and then after making a quick stop to pick up our dessert for later, we headed home.
We gave her the tour of the McVey homestead and after we got her settled in the guest room, we made our way out to the deck, where we spent the rest of our evening. We had a big spread of fresh veggies, hummus, cheeses & such for appetizers and then Bart grilled dinner for us. He can grill a mean steak. (We'd have loved to have fed Pam some of his famous Alaskan King Crab Legs or maybe even his salmon specialty, but no matter how much we tried, we couldn't convince Pam to eat seafood. So steak it was.) ;)
Bart stepped in and acted as our official photographer. Only trouble was, we couldn't stop laughing!
See what I mean??
But finally, we straightened up and he was able to get a good one. :)
Here's a little photo of our dessert from Friday night. We picked up some baby cakes made by my FAVE bakery, 3 Women and an Oven. These particular baby cakes are sooooo good......pink champaigne and chocolate kahlua. Mmm, mmm, mmm....
Saturday, we took our time getting up and around. We hung out at home in the morning and Pam and I even spent a bit of time in the studio making cards! We did leave Bart at home for a bit while we ran to Archivers. When the 3 of us left the house, we took her straight to Oklahoma Joe's for lunch. Here's me, trying to smile and conceal the fact that I have a mouth full of BBQ! LOL!
After we stuffed her full of BBQ, we had to take her to Paciugo for some of our favorite gelato!! Don't worry, we just got tiny little cups but I think I speak for all 3 of us when I say YUMMMM!
(Oh, and the weather could not have been more PERFECT the entire time she was here! I was so glad because we got to spend quite a bit of time outside.)
Doesn't Pam look so happy here? Paciugo gelato = bliss. Hee.
After gelato, we took her to the Plaza to see the pretty shops and restaurants and then we drove up to Nell Hill's store at Briarcliff so she could see why I'm always posting pictures from that beautiful store.
SIDE NOTE: Remember my bird cage wall hanging that I got at Nell Hill's awhile back? Well, it looks like you can order them online now!!
Anyway, after that we took her to Union Station for a look around and then we went to Ponak's for the ultimate in Mexican food! We were so pooped out when we got home, we vegged in front of the tv for a bit and then headed to bed!
And finally, a couple of photos of us in the studio before we took her to the airport on Sunday.
What cracks me up about these last two is how tired I look! That Pam.....she wore us OUT! Heehee....
We had a wonderful time with Pam and we so hope she'll come see us again some time!
Smooches,
