Hello there, Dearies!! Back today with post #1 of the day (sneak peeks of my new stamp set start TONIGHT!).......it's time for this week's In the Spotlight feature. I have to laugh when I read thru your color challenge blog posts. Some of you have a hard time if I just use 2 or 3 colors, while others of you seem to have trouble with 4 or 5 colors! Hee. I don't think I can possibly make this easy for everyone.......I guess that's why they call it a challenge though, right? :) All I know is that I'm SO proud of you girls for taking on these challenges and it thrills me to no end, when you discover that you really CAN do it.....you CAN make a beautiful card with colors that are maybe outside of your comfort zone.
As you'll see when you check out the cards in this week's Spotlight, these colors made lots of us think of flowers and butterflies! Don't you think they all look so pretty grouped together, below?? :)
As for my card, I was totally in butterfly mode and with so many fun patterned paper basics from Papertrey these days, it makes mixing patterns and colors a cinch! Also, because the soft stone (gray) color is so light, it made a great substitute for having to use white on the card. I heat embossed some tiny dots on the soft stone card stock with clear embossing powder. I LOVE that look....so soft and subtle. It was just the right touch for all of the other bold and bright colors on the card. The sentiment is from the Cupcake Collection stamp set. I love that sentiment. It makes me smile! And by stamping the sentiment on a separate piece of soft stone card stock, it kept it a part of the background color, without having the clutter of the dots stamped in and around the sentiment. It's a bit cleaner look this way.
All righty, check out who's In the Spotlight this week....
