Happy Wednesday, Peeps!!
Thought we should do a color challenge today. What do ya say???
This week's photo is one that I took in the Medieval village of
Eze when we were in Europe last year. We were on a Mediterranean cruise that included a stop in Monte Carlo, Monaco and while were off the ship that day, we took an excursion to the magical little village of Eze. We had seen an episode of Samantha Brown's 'Passport to Europe' on the Travel Channel, where she featured this amazing little village, located in the South of France, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and we knew we'd just love to see it for ourselves one day. Imagine our surprise when we discovered that an excursion to Eze was an option during our day in Monaco!! We were so excited and I can't even begin to tell you how fascinating that teeny village is. I think the tv show said that during the winter months (in their off-season) there are only 20-some people that actually live in the village! It's tiiiiiny! But it is filled with little stone walkways and paths like the one in my photo. Enchanting wooden doors and ancient metal door knockers........some private residences and some little bitty shops......it really is a magical place. I would have loved to have had more time to just sit and soak it all in. If you'd like to see more photos from our day in Monaco, Nice & Eze, you can
view my photo album here!
As for the colors, I know some of you may be scratching your heads right now, wondering how in the world you can make these work on a card! Trust me on this one......you can DO this!! I have the card stocks all laying out next to me and they look very cool together! If you are uncertain as to how to use these colors together without your card looking a bit garish, just let the gray be more prominent, like in the photo, and add splashes of the brighter colors. And as for the black, well that could simply be the color you stamp your sentiment in, for instance. You can DOOOO this! Hee!
I really can't wait to see what you'll all come up with! Oh -- I'll be using all Papertrey colors on this one......
Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz, New Leaf, Soft Stone & True Black. But you can feel free to use whatever brand of goodies you have on hand. Have FUN with these, Girlies.......crafting should be a stress-reliever for you....not the other way around! LOL!
Oh, I've given you a little more time than normal on this deadline, since we've got the 4th of July holiday this weekend for all of us in the US.
Enjoy!!
EDITED TO ADD: Feel free to add a bit of white in there too, if you need to. I know this one could be sorta challenging! ;)
Here are the deets:
Create a card or other project, upload a photo of your card to your blog or online gallery & then come back here to post the link to your photo in the Mister Linky box below. Don't leave your links in the comments section but feel free to leave me a comment after you've posted your link in Mister Linky. You know I love hearing from you!
Also, be sure that the link you're posting is the direct link to your card! Please don't leave your blog's url, but rather, the link to your specific post that shows us your card.
Feel free to use the graphic I've created above, however you DON'T want to copy and paste the image! Just SAVE the image to your computer and then upload the image to your blog post, as though it is a photo from your own computer. Make sense?
Don't have a blog but still want to participate?? Don't worry! You don't have to have a blog! You are more than welcome to upload your card to an online gallery of your choice (i.e. www.splitcoaststampers.com, www.papertreyink.com, www.twopeasinabucket.com, etc.) and then use the url for your photo in your gallery as the link that you post in Mister Linky.
Challenge ends Tuesday, July 7 at 9pm CST.
