Hi-ya! It's Day 3 of Scattered Showers Additions sneak peeks and I'm so glad you popped in for a visit! I have a few more cards to share with you today including this first one that's oh-so-simple, but so eye-catching too, don't you think?! It's 3 1/2" x 7" and this card just goes to show you that the sentiments in Scattered Showers Additions are so versatile, you can pair them up with lots of other stamp sets and papers galore! On this card, I cut out flowers and leaves from the In Bloom patterned paper collection and adhered them to my card front using some regular adhesive as well as some foam adhesive to give the flowers a bit more dimension. I also stamped a pair of flourishes from the Fancy Flourishes stamp set and some gemstones from The Paper Studio.
The finishing touch was adding some Palette Glitter to the yellow flower layer with my two-way glue pen. Easy-peasy, right? But I love how simple and elegant this card is. And with all those fab colors of papers in the In Bloom patterned paper collection, you could recreate this same card in lots of different color combos.
Next up is another long, skinny card....also 3 1/2" x 7". It's just flipped vertically rather than horizontally like the first card. This one has lots of bling on it! I added some Hero Arts gemstones to the sun image from Scattered Showers Additions, cut it out and layered it on the tag from this set with another of the new sentiments.
I wanted to soften the dark chocolate flourish (from Fancy Flourishes) just a bit, so after I inked the stamp up, I used a dry cloth to blot off a little of the ink before I stamped it on the card front. Then, I used my two-way glue pen to draw along the flourish lines and added some Palette Glitter.
....and don't you think that sun image looks a bit like a sunflower??? :) It was that thought, that led me to make this next card....
After realizing the sun looked a lot like a sunflower with those gemstones around the perimeter of it, I decided to see what the sun would look like stamped in "flowery" colors!! What a fun discovery -- the sun can double as a flower! I stamped a flourish (again from Fancy Flourishes) to serve as the stem/leaves for my flowers and then loaded the centers up with bright pink gemstones from Hero Arts. Fun, right?? What do you think? Could you see yourself making flowers out of this new sun image?
I stamped some Polka Dot Basics II dots in (new) aqua mist ink (don't you love how vibrant those dots are?!) and then I dragged my vintage touch tea dye ink pads around the edges of all of the papers on this card. I'm loving shabby-ing things up this week and the Vintage Touch Tea Dye inks make it so easy!
I hope you've enjoyed your time with me today. Thanks for stopping by! See you again tomorrow, Peeps!
