Hello there.......I'm back with Day 4 of the Countdown to Papertrey's August product release, including that of Scattered Showers Additions! All of the fab new goodies you've been seeing sneak peeks of this week will be available for purchase right at midnight on the 15th at Papertrey Ink. Is your wish list growing with each passing day of the Papertrey Countdown? :)
Let's get to the fun stuff, shall we? Scattered Showers Additions contains a total of 19 stamps including 7 images and 12 sentiments. There are still a couple of thos sentiments that you haven't gotten a peek at yet! (Stay tuned for tomorrow's post!) The set will sell for $24.
I don't know about you but this first card TOTALLY makes me smile! First of all, the sentiment is another new one from Scattered Showers Additions and I think it alone, could make even the gloomiest of days a bit brighter! But, pair it with a whole bunch of colorful wellies hanging on a line and you're sure to get a smile out of your recipient!
The wellies really are so easy to cut out after you've stamped them, and when you use them in pairs, you just double the cuteness quotient! :) I stamped a bunch of boot-y beauties (HA!) and then, after cutting them out and inking the edges with a bit of Vintage Touch Chai tea dye ink, I stacked each pair of boots together as I would want them to hang on the card (the front boot a bit lower and to the left of the back boot) and then punched them at the same time (one pair at a time) with a 1/16" circle punch. It's a tiny punch - just perfect for use with Papertrey's rustic jute button twine. I found that it was easiest to thread the boots onto the twine by using a needle.
And of course, the background is covered with dots from Polka Dot Basics II, stamped in Versamark ink on hibiscus burst card stock. I can't get enough of the dots!
Next up, I made another sweet little baby shower thank you card and I think because of the brown and kraft colors in my color scheme, you could even use these cards after a baby boy's shower.
Don't you love the combination of those wide scallops (that I punched with my EK Success embossed curve punch) and the aqua mist grosgrain ribbon and button? So sweet. And notice those aqua mist polka dots! The new aqua mist ink even shows up well on KRAFT card stock! Love it!
I paired up the 'Baby Shower' sentiment from Scattered Showers with the 'Thank you' sentiment from Scattered Showers Additions. I also used the single raindrop stamp from Scattered Showers and stamped a few upside down raindrops to give the appearance of the drops bouncing off the top of the umbrella. So simple and fun!
And lastly for today, I have a masculine card for you. I know sometimes coming up with 'guy cards' can be quite a challenge, especially for us girly-girls. *wink!* So, my general rule of thumb with guy cards is to keep it simple. Guys often don't care for a lot of 'fuss' on their cards so I kept it nice and simple on this get well card.
I took my spring rain ink pad and just inked one end of the long, raindrop background stamp, so I could just stamp some raindrops under the clouds and then I stamped the umbrella in a darker ink (enchanted evening) over the bottom edge of a few of those drops. It's just another way to get more mileage out of that background stamp.....you don't have to cover a whole background with it!
I punched that fun border out with my Fiskars upper crest punch. I love how easy it is to spruce up a card with a couple of decorative borders such as these.
Well, I hope you're having fun with all of the countdown posts this week! Nichole will be featuring a stamp set she designed for this release so be sure and pop over and check it out! Mish has some sneak peeks for you too, as do Heather, Melissa, Tiffany & Lauren!
Are you getting excited for the 15th to get here? Have you got some projects you just can't wait to create once you get some new goodies?? I'd love to hear what you're excited about!
Have a great day, Crew, and I'll see you tomorrow for one last day of sneaky-peeks.
