Hi there! It's 'group post' day for the Design Team girls at Papertrey Ink and this month, we've got TWO great stamp sets to show you!! Several of the stamp designers (including yours truly!) have contributed to not one, but TWO new tag stamp sets that are being released this month -- 2009 Halloween Tags and 2009 Autumn Tags! For today's post, Nichole challenged us to create a card and maybe a treat item using the 2009 Halloween Tags set and then create the same project(s) using the 2009 Autumn Tags set, but in a totally different color scheme. By doing this, you can see just how versatile these tag sets are.......if you have one great idea, you can swap out your colors and use that same idea again for a different holiday or season, thus saving you lots of time in the creating process!
For my projects, I decided to fill Small Frosted Tin Tie bags with Keebler Grasshopper cookies to coordinate with my card. (Mmmm! They taste just like Girl Scouts' Thin Mints!) These treats would be just perfect for some special trick-or-treaters in your life, or they could be used as fun little party favors!
On my card, I used a tag image from the 2009 Halloween Tags set that I designed! I stamped it in two different colors, cut out the 'Boo!' layer and adhered it to my tag with foam adhesive. I also used the 'Happy Halloween' sentiment stamp from the set to create a fun text border along the bottom of the card.
For the tags on my treats, I reversed the smokey shadow/melon berry color combo that I used on the tag on my card for a fun little twist. Another cool thing to note: did you know that you can emboss the
Frosted Tie Tin Bags with a Swiss Dot embossing folder?! You can......and it's pretty darn cute, huh?! Haha.
For my autumn goodies, I made the same project but using a summer sunrise, dark chocolate and vintage cream color palette.
This tag is one that I designed for the 2009 Autumn Tags set.....I punched out the center, solid part of the tag and stamped it a second time in dark chocolate so I could have a two-toned, layered look. Then, I added a sentiment from the set, to the center of my tag. You'll also notice another sentiment from the set along the bottom of the card, just like I did on the previous card.
I hope you've been inspired to get crafting yourself today! Be sure to visit Nichole and the Design Team girls to check out everyone's projects! And don't forget to SCROLL DOWN for my Scattered Showers Additions - Day 3 sneak peeks post!! You won't want to miss it!
