Hi there,
Back again with more Signature Christmas fun! I'm thrilled to hear that so many of you are excited about this new stamp set -- you know I can't WAIT to see what you MAKE with it!!
So let's chat about this first card, shall we? I don't know about you but there are times when I want to send a note to someone during the Christmas season -- just because. It doesn't necessarily need to be a full-on Christmas card, but rather, more of a thinking of you card that just happens to be going out to someone during the holiday season, you know? So I created the sentiment I used on this card with that in mind! "Just a Little Christmas Note"......Can you think of times when this sentiment could come in handy for you as well?
I wasn't done playing with my stripey stamps that I used to make yesterday's plaid pattern with, so I created this candy cane striped background on some vintage cream card stock using hibiscus burst ink on the '5 skinny stripes' stamp (from Background Basics: Retro) and pure poppy ink on the 'wide stripe' stamp (from Faux Ribbon). Again, I just started out with the cream card stock cut to the size I wanted it and then began stamping on the diagonal. If you use an acrylic block with lines on it for those long images, it really makes lining up your stamps and getting them straight, a snap! Nothin' to it! Papertrey does sell one such block -- the Gridline Acrylic Block, in case you're interested -- I have it and looooove it.
Also, I thought it would be fun to use some of those buttons that have the little button-hole piece that sticks out the back of the button, on this card. I threaded 3 of them on some rustic cream button twine and tied the twine around the center of the bow on my card front. I think, when clustered like that, they almost look like little candies! Fun!
I used the teacup and teabag images from Everyday Classics -- last year's free anniversary set. Hmmm.......this card has me craving a peppermint mocha for some reason! Haha!
This next card really couldn't have been simpler, I don't think! I found this fun circle image on my Accent Essentials cartridge and cut 9 of them out of raspberry fizz card stock with my Cricut Expression. Each circle is 1 1/2" in diameter. Then I just lined them up on my card front, adhering them after I got them all centered. All that was left to do was trim the edges of the circles off the sides of my card.
The sentiment is another one from Signature Christmas and those fabby Kaiser Scrapbook gemstones are ones that I picked up at Archivers the other day. The card is so simple, but makes such a bold statement by repeating a basic pattern in a striking color combo! (spring moss, raspberry fizz & scarlet jewel) You could easily achieve this same type of look by using punched out shapes over and over.
And this last card for today, gives you a peek at another sentiment from Signature Christmas, as well as an image from a new stamp set that Nichole designed for this release!! Is that stocking adorable or what?? I couldn't resist pairing up the damask stocking with my Damask Designs background.......so elegant and simple and FUN, don't you think?
You'll want to be sure and stop by Nichole's blog today, to see what all she's done with this adorable stocking set!! Heather is featuring this set today as well! Also Melissa and Beth will be showing you more glimpses of their new sets and Lauren will have more template peeks too.
I'll be back tomorrow with not one, but TWO posts for you -- so excited to show you all the Christmas projects I've been working on!
I hope you've enjoyed today's look at more sentiments from Signature Christmas! I'd love your feedback.....I so appreciate hearing from you.
P.S. For those of you that participated in my last color challenge, I haven't forgotten the In the Spotlight post!! Look for that as soon as we get thru this Papertrey Countdown (just a few days).....there were over 200 of you that participated and it's just gonna take me a little bit of time to get thru all those entries and create the graphics and such, and since I'm in the middle of prepping Countdown projects and posts each day, I think we'll just do the Spotlight in a few days. *wink* Thanks for your patience! I appreciate it!
