Hello there and welcome back for Day 4 of the Papertrey Countdown! Just one more day of the countdown and then it will be Release Day and all of these fun new products you've been getting peeks at (including Signature Christmas) will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink! (available Sept. 15)
Yesterday, I had two posts that were both filled with lots and lots of PINK (haha!) so I thought today, I'd share a couple of cards with you that use more traditional Christmas colors. ;) All of the cards I'm sharing today have two stamp sets in common -- they all have sentiments from Signature Christmas on them and they all feature an image from the new Vintage Labels stamp set, designed by Nichole Heady! Be sure to check out Nichole's blog today, as she's focusing on both of these new sets!
I just love creating background patterns with dark chocolate ink on kraft card stock and this one is no exception. I fell in love with the little flourishy images contained in the Vintage Labels set the second I saw them. I just didn't realize how ideal they would be for creating custom background patterns of all different varieties!
On this card, I simply stamped the image over and over in rows, stamping it right-side-up and then upside-down. You can see how easy it is to line this cute little stamp up by using the loops and points as your guide.
On this card, I used the same stamp to create my background, however I didn't flip the image upside down at all on this card. I also spaced each image out a bit more to create a background with a little more open space. Don't you just love how this stamp creates papers that have such a 'vintage wallpaper' look to them?! Happy sigh...
I also wanted to point out that I used one of the label images and cut it out by hand with my paper snips.....nothin' to it! AND, do you recognize that detail stamp on either side of my sentiment? That's the same image that I used in yesterday's Signature Christmas post, to create another fun background! It's such a beautiful image and I finished off my label by adding some Kaiser Scrapbook gemstones to the points of this image.
One more card for you featuring the same beautiful heart-shaped flourish image as well as a small label from Vintage Labels and my 'joy' sentiment from Signature Christmas. I couldn't resist slipping in a liiiiittle pink today with this fun hibiscus burst, kraft, aqua mist color combo! ;)
I added small dots to the background pattern with my white gel pen to give the pattern a tad more dimension.
For today, you'll want to bop over and visit Nichole's and Mish's blogs where they're both highlighting Signature Christmas and Vintage Labels!! Lauren will have more template peeks for you and Melissa and Beth will be sharing more looks at their new sets as well.
Thanks for stopping by today! What do you think? Are you a more 'traditional Christmas colors' kind of girl, or do you prefer to shake things up a little and go with a more out-of-the-ordinary color combo for your Christmas projects? :) I can't wait to hear from you!
I'll be back tomorrow with one last day of Signature Christmas sneak peeks!
