Hey There, Peeps! I've got this week's Spotlight cards to share with you for Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #19 but first, I thought I'd share the cards that Nichole and I made for the challenge when she was here visiting. We stayed up late one night making cards......goodness, what a fun time we had! Here's the card I made for this challenge. I loved layering all of these colors together! So much fun! The sentiments I chose are from the new Big & Bold Wishes stamp set and I also stamped some Giga Guide Lines, some Background Basics: Diamonds and some Polka Dot Basics II.
Next up, here's the card that Nichole created.....a soft and sweet, shimmery birthday card.
She worked all of those colors into her card by using strips of card stock and buttons. By keeping the brown as the main color on her card, she was able to balance all of the other colors by using them in smaller bits. She also heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder (that is, after I inadvertently handed her the clear embossing powder first! Oops...Hee!). Anyway, once I'd given her the correct powder that she'd asked for :) she was able to use a bit of VersaMark ink to emboss the sentiment (from Signature Greetings) in white.
And don't you just love how shimmery and glittery those strips are? She used a two-way glue pen to apply glue to the strips and then poured on the glitter. SO cute!
All righty, so enough about our cards! Check out who's In The Spotlight this week.....
A. Anthea
B. Dana F.
C. Dawn W.
D. Julie Batta
E. Lisa Forsythe
F. Natascha
G. Paloma Gomez
H. Rosemarie Diehl
I. Winter Sims
J. Cindy Holshauser
Thanks so much to each of you that played along this week!! You make my job of choosing cards to spotlight, soooo tough! Can't wait to do another challenge though....don't forget, Nichole played along for this next challenge too! Can't wait to show you her cute card!
Before I run out to tackle some more Christmas shopping today, I wanted to mention a new card drive that my dear friend Jennifer McGuire is hosting with the help of some friends. They've found 8 children and their families who could use some cheering up as they face some very serious illnesses. Check out THIS POST at Jennifer's blog to read all about how you can send a card and brighten someone's day. There are prizes for those that send cards too, so you don't want to miss out!
Thanks, Friends! Hope your week is going well. I'm off to shop and then will hopefully get to make some more embellies this afternoon.....I know some of you are anxiously awaiting more of them in my Etsy Shop. Thanks so much! I have practice at church tonight, for the upcoming Christmas Eve services that I'll be a part of. So much to do, so little time! *wink*
