Hello there and happy Thursday to you!! It's time to Spotlight some fabulous entries for this week's Raspberry Suite color challenge. I have to tell you that even though there were half as many entries as we usually have, I'm sure due to the hustle and bustle of the season, I still ended up with about 25 favorites! Ack! You girls make the cutest cards! I had a tough time narrowing it down again, but managed to select a top 10. I do love that some of the cards are very detailed and some are so, super simple -- proving that regardless of what your stamping level is, you can certainly participate in these challenges! EVERYone can play along!
All right, so let me tell you first about the card I created for this color challenge. I used various stamps from the Take Note stamp set to create the background paper for this card. I just stamped the images in dark chocolate ink on kraft card stock. Then, I roughed up the edges of my patterned paper panel with my Heidi Swapp edge distresser and then added some vintage touch tea dye ink to the edges. The label was created with stamps from Take Note as well....I just love the "This & That" stamp!
I added an aqua mist button and some terracotta tile bitty dot ribbon (so cute!) and that finished off my card. I also promised you a card that Nichole Heady made for this challenge, when she was here for a visit. Here's Nichole's card:
Is it cute, or what?! I never would have even thought to stamp all of those colors (flowers & dots) on the kraft card stock, but she did and I think it turned out beautifully! The flowers are from Floral Frenzy and the dots are Polka Dot Basics II.
She also used my scalloped edge punch (SU!) along the top of the sentiment strip and my upper crest punch (Fiskars) along the bottom edge. The butterfly was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and she added a couple of brown rhinestones to the body of the butterfly. Cutie-cute!
