Hi All! Happy weekend! Today is group post day for the Papertrey Ink design team girls, and this month, we're focusing on the new Tiny Treats stamp set that Nichole Heady designed. She asked each of us to create a simple Valentine treat that you could reproduce quickly and easily for Valentine's Day parties, the kids in your children's class at school, etc. And then, we were to show you a year-round project using the same set. I'm excited about what I have to share with you today....the Tiny Treats set packs a pretty powerful (and adorable) year-round punch!
First up, let's talk about my treat project. One snackie treat that I LOVE is dark chocolate covered pretzels, particularly the ones from Harry & David. Have you tried them?? They're sooooo good and I like that I can just have a few at a time and that's all I need. (Though it would be no trouble at all to eat the whole bag! HA!) So for my treat project, I decided to package some of those dark chocolate pretzels in one of Papertrey's very handy 8 oz. square clear top tins. Now, you may not want to make these for all the kids in your children's class at school, but how great would these grown-up treat tins be for a Valentine party at the office, or even just to leave on a few of your co-workers desks?! Wouldn't these just brighten someone's day?
I created a little tag by stamping the label image, two of the heart images and a sentiment from Tiny Treats. After I'd layered the image on dark chocolate card stock, I used my pinking shears to trim around the label, creating a cute little tag for my tins. And, a great use for those BIG buttons in your collection is to add them to the center of a simple bow like I did on this tin. They make a big impact in a snap! This cool button was one I found in my spring moss button jar. Love!
So, now that I've shown you a Valentine treat, how about a project using Tiny Treats, that you could create year-round?
I created this sweet baby boy card by stamping rows of some of the more boy-appropriate images from the set and layering them on the card front.....airplanes, dogs, frogs and dinosaurs! Aren't the images so cute when grouped together like this? Throw in some Polka Dot Basics II and a baby sentiment from Mega Mixed Messages and voila! Instant baby boy card!
I created the tag much in the same way that I did for my treat tin, by using my pinking shears to trim around the circle portion of the label.
I hope you've gotten a few ideas for how you could use Tiny Treats for yourself. Be sure to go visit all of the other design team members for LOTS more inspiration using this fun and versatile stamp set!
