Hi All! It's been a busy day around here, trying to get things checked off the never-ending to-do list but I wanted to be sure and pop in with this week's Spotlight post and my card for Color Challenge #21.
You're gonna laugh when you see how many stamp sets I used on this card!! It totally wasn't intentional but as I got to creating, I kept adding this or that and they all just happened to come from different sets. It just goes to show you though, that you really can get sooooooo much mileage out of those older sets by pulling them out and mixing them with newer sets. Plus, I think it's a testament to how versatile Papertrey's stamps really are. So many of them work so well with so many of the other sets. I just love that. So let me tell you what all I used on this card -- it was 6 sets to be exact! LOL! But you may be surprised at how many of these you already have.
I stamped the large flourish from Fancy Flourishes on the rustic cream card base. Then I stamped the large leaf image from Turning a New Leaf on more rustic cream card stock and cut it out. (I'm planning to do a video on cutting out images like this one, because several of you have been asking!) I stamped a bit of Damask Designs on the aqua mist card stock strip and stamped the flower from In Bloom and cut it out and layered it over the top of my leaves. Then I stamped the 'Stitched With Love' sentiment from Daily Designs Sentiments on a piece of lemon tart card stock and stitched it to the card front with my sewing machine. And lastly, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Birthday Basics! Six sets! Hee. And the thing is, you could totally recreate this card with whatever stamp sets you have on hand. You could change out the sentiments for something else, you could stamp a different flower, a different background, different leaves or flourishes....whatever. Isn't it so fun to think of all the different combination possibilities?!
Lastly, I used my two-way glue pen to add some prisma glitter to the flower. It's super sparkly in real life!
And now, I just want to tell you how PROUD I am of each of you that participated in the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #21!! Talk about a huuuuge response -- there were so many new participants and I just want you to know how glad I am that you decided to play along! I know how hard it can be to sort of put yourself out there, but you did it and I hope that you enjoyed the creative process and I hope that you got some positive feedback from others that stopped by and peeked at your card or project!
I was also so happy to see so many perfect little bows on your cards! Hahaha! It was a bit of a recurring theme......pretty bows and happy bow-makers. I'm thrilled that some of you found my Bow Tying 101 video helpful!
All right, so enough of my chatter. ;)
