Hello there!! Welcome back to Day 3 of sneak peeks at Top Ten and Top Ten Additions! I've got lots of fun things to share with you today! I've created several cards to show you so let's get started!
All 3 of my sisters, my mom, my niece AND my nephew have birthdays in January and February so it's a busy birthday season for us! I decided to get a jump on some of the birthday cards I'll be needing to make and will show you how I was able to use Top Ten on each of them! This first one is for my cutie-patootie niece!! Those of you that have been reading my blog for awhile now, may remember when she was born. She is soon to be TWO years old! Where does the time go?!
For Ally's card, I created a really fun background paper by using different word stamps from Top Ten and Top Ten Additions that describe Ally.....pLayFul, cute, Happy, FUNNY, silly, GoOfy and sweet! I stamped them in a sort of crossword puzzle fashion on the kraft card stock, using dark chocolate ink. Then, to add a bit more depth to the background, I added some Polka Dot Basics II stamped in versamark ink. I LOVE the look that I was able to create!
For the focal point on the card, I used the ADORABLE cupcake image from the new Baby Button Bits set (available on Jan. 15) and paper pieced the cupcake together by stamping it on various papers and adhering them to my scalloped square. I used my glue pad to add glitter to the top of the cupcake -- easy peasy! And how about that FUN sentiment?! I used the 'happy birthday' sentiment from the Birthday Basics stamp set and paired it with the 'cutie patootie!' sentiment from Baby Button Bits. LOVE that cutie patootie!
Since the first two cards I have to show you today have Polka Dot Basics II stamped on them and since you've been requesting a video on how to stamp your own background images.......here you go! ;)
So, next up is my birthday card for Baby Malachi. Malachi is Ally's baby brother and he will be turning one a couple weeks before Ally turns two! Sooo.....I made him a totally fun little birthday card using one of the adorable new Click Simple templates! Watch Nichole's blog this week for more info about the newest Click Simple releases!
I printed out the elephant template, cut it out and stamped Polka Dot Basics II on him. Then, I printed it out again on spring moss card stock and after cutting the ear out, I stamped more words from Top Ten and Top Ten Additions that could describe Malachi. Next, I stamped the 'number 10' from Top Ten and then cut out the 1 and mounted it on my card front to look like the little elephant is holding the 1 for Malachi's first birthday!
Lastly for today, I created a birthday card for my sweet sister, Gracie. I wanted to list out some of the qualities I love about her on the front of her card. On the cream card stock, I stamped the 'long journaling lines' stamp (from Top Ten) repeatedly (in ocean tides ink) to create those pretty dotted lines for my words to sit on. Next, I pulled out some of the words from Top Ten and Top Ten Additions that best describe her and stamped them in between the lines I'd created. At the bottom of the card, I stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment from Say It With Style. It was the perfect size for the space at the bottom of the card! To finish it off, I added a little butterfly that I'd punched from some bitty box basics patterned paper with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I love the teeny button I found in my jar of aqua mist buttons, for the butterfly. And, I scalloped some strips of ocean tides card stock with my apron lace punch and stitched them to the cream panel, to frame out the card.
That's all I've got for you today. I hope that you've enjoyed your time with me! I'll be back tomorrow with more fun projects to share with you using Top Ten! This is also my second post for today, so scroll on down to see some more new goodies!
