Hey there,
Hope you're all doing well today! It's almost the weekend. Can I get a HURRAY?! :) Nichole has another exciting Papertrey announcement over on her blog today and she's also issued a technique challenge, to create a card using the emboss resist technique. I must confess that I'd never tackled this technique before, but was a bit surprised at the cool, grungy, vintage-y look that I achieved in the process. I stamped a pattern from Background Basics: Diamonds first in spring moss ink on white card stock. After the ink was totally dry, I stamped the leaves with VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. (The leaves were pretty invisible at that point.) Then I took a sponge and inked it up a bit with some ripe avocado ink and started rubbing it all over the entire piece of the card stock. Once I had it all rubbed in like I wanted it, I wiped off the surface of the leaves to sort of polish them up a bit. The result was some cool patterned leaves and a super subtle background pattern on the rest of the card stock!
Be sure to head over to Nichole's blog to read all about the latest Papertrey news and if you get time, you can participate in this emboss resist challenge with us! If you need a bit more inspiration, some of the other Design Team members are playing along with this challenge too. Melissa Phillips, Niki Estes and Heather Nichols all have cards to share with you today so pop over and take a peek.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
