Welcome to one of the *official* stops on the Papertrey Egg Hunt! Look closely and you may find a hidden egg that's one-of-a-kind. Perhaps there are more than one or maybe even none! The challenge is yours, enjoy and have fun! If you are starting out here, make sure that you stop by Nichole's Blog to read about all the details along with the GRAND PRize affiliated with this fun contest!
Hello! It's group post day for the Papertrey Design Team Girlies and Nichole has asked us each to share a card and a gift wrap project with you featuring Heather Nichols' new Egg Hunt stamp set.
Ok, so I'm gonna let you all in on a big secret today......I love FUN SOCKS! Haha! It's true. My love of fun socks started when I was 5 or 6 years old and my Mom had a drawer full of fun socks in colorful stripes and various cheery patterns, but I think back then, my absolute favorites were the whole collection of 'pom pom socks' she had. They were white ankle socks with a bright colored band right around the top of the ankle and a pom pom at the back of the ankle in the same color as the band. She must have had 5 or 6 pairs of them in different colors and I just loved them! I loved those bright colors and the super cool pom poms. :) I wonder if they still make those somewhere today....
The great thing about fun socks is that they make ideal little inexpensive "just because" gifts. You don't have to worry about what size to get and you can find them at lots of stores like Target, Wal-mart, GAP (love to buy them on clearance!), etc. Wouldn't it be fun to pick out an adorable pair of fun socks, package them up cute and give them to a friend....for no reason other than to brighten their day?
What's even more fun is if you color coordinate your card and packaging with the pair of socks, like I did here with these great argyle knee socks! I discovered that by folding this pair of knee socks in thirds, they slide perfectly into the small kraft coffee bag. They're a perfect fit!
I used the single dot image from Egg Hunt to stamp the dot pattern on the bag. Because the surface of the bag isn't smooth where it folds up, I find that it's easier to get a clean pattern stamped by stamping each dot separately rather than using a whole background pattern stamp. I also used a single flower image from Egg Hunt to stamp the little flower border along the bottom of the bag. The butterflies and butterfly trails are also images from Egg Hunt.
The scallops on either side of the card were cut with the new medium scallop die and the background pattern was stamped with a flower background image from Egg Hunt.
Are these sentiments sweet or what? The "happy" and "spring" are individual word stamps and the "wishing you butterfly mornings and wildflower afternoons" is another stamp. I stamped all of the sentiments on rustic cream card stock that I cut with the new Fillable Frames die.
Nichole and all of the Design Team girls have projects to share with you today, so have fun be-bopping around blog land to see what each one has created!
Also, this is my second post of the day so be sure and scroll down to see more sneak peeks of my new Studio Style set as well as another fun Color Couture card!
