Hello and welcome! Today, I'm thrilled to introduce you to the latest innovation in the Raspberry Suite line-up at Papertrey Ink......Color Couture!
One thing that I'm extremely passionate about when crafting is COLOR! Those of you that have been reading my blog for very long have probably picked up on that little tid-bit. *grin* I'm so inspired by color and I love pairing all different types of colors together to create beautiful and unique (and sometimes a little surprising!) color schemes. Utilizing color in a way that is fresh and fun is something that gives me so much joy and it was in thinking about that very thing that the idea for the Color Couture line was born. My hope is that Color Couture will become an invaluable resource for you, whether you struggle with color combinations yourself or you consider yourself a color pro. I hope that the Color Couture line will keep you constantly inspired with ideas and products that you can use to create your own adorable and stylish projects!
The Color Couture line is built around different color schemes that I've put together and created products around. I've designed an exclusive Color Couture Inspiration Binder and each quarter 3 new color collections of pre-printed embellies will be released. These embellies can be cut out, punched out, glittered, distressed, etc. or used just as they are. They're so easy to use whether you're a beginner paper-crafter or whether you've been stamping and creating for years. The possibilities are endless as to what all you can do with the Color Couture embellies! Not only that, but each month, there will also be Inspiration Inserts released that you can store in your Inspiration Binder, that feature exclusive projects that myself, Melissa Phillips and Betsy Veldman have created using the Color Couture embellies! These Inspiration Inserts will come complete with photos, supply lists and instructions so that you can make those same projects for yourself, or you can just use them for a bit inspiration as you create your own projects. Each of the projects featured on these Inspiration Inserts are exclusive to the Color Couture collection so you won't see them anywhere else! There are even Color Dividers for the binders, featuring the Color Couture color schemes, to help you keep each collection of goodies organized. Oh, and did I mention that the embellies were also designed to be stored in your Inspiration Binder until you use them?! Stay tuned in the coming months, when we'll also be releasing downloadable Color Couture patterned papers and card templates that will coordinate with the Color Couture embellies!
The great thing about Color Couture embellies is that regardless of whether you're just starting out or whether you have tons of experience, you can use them with ease! AND, they coordinate with all of Papertrey's Perfect Match colors so they work perfectly with the card stock, ink, buttons, ribbons, etc., that so many of you already have on hand. And whether you want to add stamping to your projects or you build your card around the embellies and some patterned papers, you can create adorable cards that you can be proud of!
I'd like to say a special thank you to Melissa and Betsy for their amazing work with the Color Couture line. Their projects are so, so beautiful and I'm sure you'll be so inspired by them too!
Wanna see some of these Color Couture embellies in action?? Here are several projects I made using just a few of them!
On this first card, I stamped a background of polka dots using the Polka Dot Basics II stamp set and some versamark ink on ripe avocado card stock. I used a corner chomper to round the bottom left corner of the card base.
Here is a close up of the embellies. I cut out the "You Are Such a Joy" framed embellie and added a little scalloped strip of pure poppy card stock. Then, I cut out one of the flower embellies and a pair of leaves and adhered them to the sentiment panel with foam adhesive. I added a little rhinestone to the center of the flower embellie.
I kept it nice and simple on this card....I started out with a strip of Background Basics: Diamonds that I stamped in pure poppy ink on berry sorbet card stock. Then I added one of the strips of ric rac trim that I'd cut out (Each Color Couture embellie group also includes several different paper 'trims' that you can use on your cards!) and adhered to the card front.
I cut out some more embellie flowers and leaves on this one, plus a cute little sentiment label.
For this card, I used a flower embellie and a couple of other circle embellies that were both designed to coordinate with some circle punches which make them so quick and easy to use! I also stitched a bit of spring moss classic grosgrain ribbon along the bottom, just above a bit of bitty box basics patterned paper.
The white scalloped circle behind the red/berry patterned circle embellie was punched out with a super jumbo scalloped circle punch. I finished this one off with a couple of berry sorbet buttons.
Stay tuned in the next few months for the addition of Color Couture challenges too! I hope that you’ll find the Color Couture line to be extremely inspiring and oh-so-fun to use!
