Hi there! Back with some more Hero Arts goodness to share with you today. I'm pretty blessed to still have both of my Grandmas living so I needed to get two Mother's Day cards made. I showed you one of the cards I made awhile back, however as soon as I saw Hero Arts' Dogwood stamp, I immediately thought of my other Grandma and knew it would be the perfect image to use on a card for her. You see, my grandparents lived in the same house for most of my life and in the backyard of their house was THE most beautiful pink dogwood tree you can imagine. I mean that sincerely......think of the more beautiful pink dogwood tree you can dream up. Got it in your mind's eye? THAT'S how pretty my Grandma's tree was. Every year. And truthfully, when we drove in to the city to visit them over the years, it was always the most magnificent tree we ever saw on the way to their house. I loved that pink dogwood so much. It was the thing I was most sad to lose when Grandma finally had to move out of that house a couple of years ago and I know she hated to say goodbye to that tree as well. It was just so spectacular each year when it would be filled to overflowing with gorgeous pink blooms and even as the blooms were spent, they'd fall to the ground covering the yard with pretty pink blossoms. It really was a sight to behold and I loved it so much that after Bart and I got married, we tried planting a pink dogwood in our own yard. Much to my disappointment, it died and so......we tried again. We planted another pink dogwood and it also died. After that, Bart said, "Pick a new kind of tree." Hahaha.......so we ended up with a pretty purple leaf plumb instead.....but that's neither here nor there. The point to all of this rambling is just that Hero Arts' Dogwood stamp was the perfect image for creating this card for my Grandma for Mother's Day. I paired it with sentiments from my Delightful Dahlia stamp set (Papertrey) and added a pretty scalloped border from vintage book print along the bottom.
I had fun coloring the image and thinking back on the beautiful blossoms on Grandma's gorgeous tree. (Thank you, Hero Arts.)
I hope your Saturday is a great one, Dearies! Can't wait to chat with you again.....
