Hi there! Welcome to Day 3 of sneak peeks at Delightful Dahlia and this month's Color Couture Download goodies. I'm so glad you popped in!
I love this first card so much and am looking forward to giving it to my Grandma for Mother's Day. I used one of the new Color Couture March Download patterned papers for the background of this card. Don't you just love that paper?? It coordinates so well with kraft card stock, but since it doesn't have other colors on it, you can use it on literally countless different projects! I just love a great, versatile patterned paper, don't you?
I die cut and stamped the large dahlia image from Delightful Dahlia and after coloring it with my Copic markers, I layered it on top of a strip of scalloped hibiscus burst card stock that I cut with my small scallop border die and a strip of Color Couture trim from the Vol. 3 collection.
I used two of the sentiments from Delightful Dahlia, "Happy Mother's Day" and "Grandma". I love that you can use these alone or together to give you more stamping options.
Next up is a fun little card in the same basic color scheme as the first. I used the same dotted patterned paper that you saw on the previous card, from the Color Couture March Download. The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is also from the Delightful Dahlia set and I heat embossed both the sentiment and all of the flowers and leaves on this card, with clear embossing powder.
After adhering the kraft strip of card stock to the card front, I stitched down the center of the strip with my sewing machine. Lastly, I took 3 clear rhinestones and colored them with a copic marker in a coordinating pink and then adhered them to the sentiment strip.
Next up are a couple of mini cards I created using one of the two mini artisan card templates included in this month's Color Couture Download. Aren't they cute little babies?! And the best part is that they're perfectly sized to fit in Papertrey's gift enclosure envelopes! Gotta love that! So for these little guys, I made some cards that could easily be tucked into a gift for a wedding or graduation, perhaps even Mother's Day or a birthday gift. Lots of uses for these little guys.
Don't you love that pretty artisan shape along the bottom of the card? I stamped the large dahlia image on each card and colored them with my Copics. Then I stamped the sentiments, "A Gift For You" and "Happy Wedding Day" (both from Delightful Dahlia) in coordinating colors.
I wanted to show you the inside of the card. See how the Copic bled thru? Of course you don't want to leave that visible on the inside for the recipient to see, so I just cut another card template out but cut off the back side of the card leaving only the front panel. Then I adhered that panel right inside the card to cover up the marker bleed. Easy peasy!
All righty, I'm off for today, but you'll want to pop over to see what Nichole Heady and Lisa Johnson have in store for you. Plus, Heather Nichols, Melissa Bickford, Becky Oehlers and Beth Silaika will have more peeks at their new sets for you as well. Enjoy!
See you tomorrow for more Raspberry Suite sneakie peeks, Dearies!
