Hello there! I'm back again with another day of fun sneak peeks for you featuring my new Delightful Dahlia set (available March 15 at Papertrey Ink). You know how much I love my treasured vintage book print so I couldn't resist seeing what my pretty new dahlia stamps would like like when stamped on said book print. I think it was a success! What do you think? Ha. I LOVE how fun and colorful and a bit vintage these cards are! The fact of the matter is that I'm always in need of birthday cards and because of that, I'm always using birthday cards and therefore am always OUT of birthday cards! Haha. So, I decided to whip up a whole set of these quick and easy beauties to have on hand so I'm prepared.....at least for a little while!
I used the large dahlia die to die cut these flowers and then stamped them with true black ink. I added adhesive pearls to the centers of the flowers -- sometimes one large pearl, sometimes 2 or 3 smaller ones. I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Delightful Dahlia on the scalloped kraft strip along the bottom of the card. I also used vintage touch tea dye ink along the edges of the card bases and the kraft strips just to shabby things up a bit. I love how that helps to tie in the vintagey-ness (yes, I made that word up) of the book print!
Ahhh.......don't they look so pretty all lined up in a row??? For the card bases, I used raspberry fizz, hawaiian shores, new leaf and berry sorbet card stock.
And one last thing to note about these cards.......see that pretty plaid pattern in the background on each card? That's one of Papertrey's new impression plates. SO lovely!
Next up is a bright and cheery little number....another birthday card. I kept this one nice and simple and let the colors really shine. I colored the large dahlias with copics that coordinate with summer sunrise, orange zest and pure poppy. The scalloped border was cut with the small scallop border die.
I added buttons in coordinating colors to the centers of each flower. I love how that little touch adds such a fun 'pop' to this card!
And lastly for today, these are the other mini templates from this month's Color Couture Download. These are the vertical orientation of the mini artisan template (as opposed to the horizontally oriented mini cards I showed you yesterday). Aren't they cute?! Again, they coordinate with Papertrey's gift enclosure envelopes.
For these cards though, I wanted them to be polka dotted all over the front and back so I printed out this great raspberry fizz dotted patterned paper (from this month's Color Couture Download) and then put the patterned paper back in my printer again and printed out the card templates on the back side (so that the score line would be on the inside of the finished card). This way, my cards are vintage cream on the inside and entirely dotty on the outside! Handy dandy!
I used some embellies from the Color Couture Vol 1 embellie collection as well as a bit of faux stitched trim (from the same embellie collection) on the card on the right.
And how about that FUN dark chocolate card stock ric rac?! I love the double ric rac and can't wait to try this again in different colors of both card stock and even felt! Again, notice how pretty the artisan card shape is? What a versatile template to have on hand, wouldn't you say? :)
Well, that's it for me today but I hope you'll join me tomorrow for one last day of sneak peeks! Not only will I be sharing more Raspberry Suite projects with you, but I also have the pleasure of helping to introduce another of Nichole's new sets! Can't wait!
Don't forget to visit Nichole Heady and Mish Wooderson today as well as Heather Nichols, Melissa Bickford, Beth Silaika and Becky Oehlers!
