Hi there!! Tonight is the big night! It's release night at Papertrey Ink! That means that tonight you can finally purchase all of these new goodies we've been showing you all week long! Are you as excited for this release as I am? I can't wait to see what you will make with your new goodies once they're in your hot little hands!
I'm hoping to be able to chat with you tonight at the Papertrey release party, all the way from Australia! The release party happens in the Papertrey Forum from 10pm EST - midnight. I'd love to be able to chat with you so if you get a minute, pop over and say hi!! :)
I've got a few more projects to share with you today so let's get right to it. I'm super excited to get the opportunity to show you another one of the stamp sets being released along side Delightful Dahlia this month! Distressed Stripes was designed by Nichole Heady and it is soooo fun to work with! You can create your own striped patterns in any color combo and pattern you choose by mixing up the striped stamps and inks you work with. I think you're really gonna love this set! I created this first card by stamping a background of stripes in hibiscus burst, melon berry and sweet blush ink.
I then die cut each of the 4 images from the Delightful Dahlia stamp set and then stamped them all in versamark ink before heat embossing them with clear embossing powder. I layered the flowers on the striped background and then added the little sentiment strip as well as a strip of melon berry ric rac along the top. Such a fun and CHEERY card, don't you think? Goodness, I just love that ric rac!
The above photo is just to show you that inspiration really can come from just about anywhere!! This wall decor hangs in our guest bathroom! Haha!! I have loved this wall art since the day I bought it a couple of years ago. I had a bit of a lightbulb moment when I noticed that the stripes on the pink portion of the artwork could easily be replicated with the new Distressed Stripes stamp set. After that, I began looking at each element of the artwork and considering what Papertrey images I had on hand to work with that would allow me to create an entire card using this basic layout and color scheme. Here's what I came up with:
Not to bad, huh??? ;) I pulled out the original Polka Dot Basics stamp set for the background and made certain that I added lots of vintage touch tea dye ink around the edges to really shabby it up. I used my top note die from Stampin' Up! to create the basic pink shape from sweet blush card stock and then stamped the stripes using sweet blush ink.
I used Heather's new Fillable Frames #2 die and stamp set to stamp the frame and sentiment. Then, I used a couple of the pretty flourish images from Vintage Labels to stamp behind the frame on the pink layer. I just love how this turned out.....so soft and sweet! So, what do you think? Do you have any decor around your home that you could use as inspiration for creating a card?
Next up is a fun card I created using 3 of this month's new stamp sets as well as some of the new Beautiful Blooms dies. This pointy-petaled flower is my favorite from the Beautiful Blooms die collection so I couldn't resist using it on this card. First off, I stamped a stripey pattern with Distressed Stripes on rustic cream card stock. Then, I used all 3 dies to die cut 3 striped flowers from that stamped pattern. Next, I die cut 3 hawaiian shores felt flowers and then 3 book print flowers. I used vintage touch tea dye ink on the edges of all of the paper flowers and then layered the flowers, making sure to include one of each type in each little stack. I stitched a hibiscus burst button to the center of each cluster of flowers with DMC embroidery floss.
The sentiment is from Delightful Dahlia and the background that I stamped on the hibiscus burst layer is from Melissa's new Background Basics: Botanical. A simple knot tied with hawaiian shores topnotch twill finished off the card.
My last project for today features a few more stripes from Distressed Stripes, only this time, I stamped them along the bottom edges of an artisan card template (from this month's Color Couture Download). I stamped the "Congratulations" sentiment from Delightful Dahlia on a strip of aqua mist card stock and tied a bow from ripe avocado twill around the entire card front.
The spring moss/ripe avocado background paper is one from this month's Color Couture Download and after die cutting the dahlias with the new Delightful Dahlia dies and then stamping them with Palette Noir ink, I colored them in with Copics.
So, now that you've seen 5 days of sneak peeks, what do you think of all of these new Raspberry Suite goodies? Are you excited about the Delightful Dahlia set and coordinating dies? What about the Color Couture Download? Can you believe how many goodies are included in the download for just $5?! And what about that ric rac die? I'd love to hear your thoughts!!
Be sure to visit Nichole Heady today, as she's showcasing Delightful Dahlia and Distressed Stripes! Plus, Heather Nichols, Melissa Bickford, Beth Silaika and Becky Oehlers have more peeks at their new sets too!
Have a fabulous day and I hope to get to chat with you at the Papertrey Release party tonight!!
