Hello there and welcome!! I'm so glad you popped in for a visit today! I have LOTS of goodies to show you.....it's a big month for my Raspberry Suite line! I've got several new products to introduce to you so let's get started, shall we? First off, I'm thrilled to be able to introduce you to Delightful Dahlia, the newest stamp set in my Raspberry Suite line with Papertrey Ink!! Delightful Dahlia will be available for purchase for just $15 beginning on March 15 so for the next few days until then, I will have projects to share with you each day to give you some sneak peeks at what you can do with Delightful Dahlia! I know how much we all love flower sets and I think that you'll find that whether you're a "colorer" or not, this set is one that you'll find lots and lots of uses for. The set features two sizes of dahlias as well as two different leaves plus a variety of sentiments in a gorgeous font, that are ideal for year-round occasions such as birthdays, thank yous and weddings, as well as some that happen in the spring, such as Mother's Day. There will also be a set of 4 coordinating dies available for this set!! How exciting is that?!! You can die cut dahlias and their leaves to your little heart's content! ;)
I am head over heels in love with this first card and can't wait to actually give it away for Mother's Day this year! I created a ruffled card the other day that I was ga-ga over (and it seems like quite a few of you were too, based on all the sweet comments you left me) so I wanted to try that same paper ruffle treatment on this card, only this time I used the small scallop border die from Papertrey. I die cut the scalloped strips from pages from a vintage book and then used some vintage touch tea dye ink on the edges of the scallops. Next up, I stamped a large label shape from Vintage Labels on kraft card stock with dark chocolate ink. I then cut out the inside of the label portion using a pair of small paper snips. After that, I adhered the "ruffles" on the bottom portion of the kraft card stock, tied a bow around it and set it aside.
Then I stamped the large dahlia image from Delightful Dahlia on the front of my rustic cream card in Palette Noir ink. (I always use Palette Noir when coloring with Copics and I do heat set that ink before I begin coloring to prevent the black ink from running.) I also went ahead and stamped the sentiments as well. Those are two separate sentiments from Delightful Dahlia -- "Happy Mother's Day" and "Mom". Next, I colored the flower in and then I adhered my kraft frame panel over the top of the flower, using foam adhesive.
Here's a shot of the two Copics I used to color the flower. I also cut another piece of rustic cream card stock to adhere to the inside of the card front, to cover where the ink from the markers had bled thru the card stock so that the inside of the card is nice and clean.
Next, I'd like to show you a new die that I've designed for this release.....a ric rac die!!! This die will allow you to create gorgeous, perfect-every-time paper ric rac for your projects, however my first thought when designing this die was, now that Papertrey is introducing it's own line of felt in their signature Perfect Match colors, this die will allow you to create your own FELT RIC RAC!!!! HOOOOW cool is that?!!
Doesn't that felt ric rac look soooooo adorable??? Can you just envision all of the amazing projects that you could add felt ric rac to? And the best part is, this fabulous die which measures 8 3/4" long, will be sold for only $6 beginning on March 15!! I can't even tell you how excited I am for Papertrey to release new colors of felt each month! And yes, you might just be getting a peek at some of that new felt in the photo above. *wink!*
So, now that I've gushed over this handy new die, wanna see some of that felt ric rac on a project??
I started with a kraft card base and added another fun book print scalloped border along the bottom of the card. Along the top edge of the book print, I adhered the felt border using some Tombo Mono Multi glue. Above that, I layered both of the dahlias from Delightful Dahlia, that I die cut using the Delightful Dahlia dies, and stamped on kraft card stock. Run over to Nichole's blog today for more info about that gorgeous color! ;)
You'll also notice another fun application on the background of the kraft card stock. Keep an eye out on Nichole's blog this week for info about the new impression plate I used to create that look! And notice the sentiments? "Dear Friend" and "I just love you" are two more sentiments from the Delightful Dahlia stamp set. You could use them together like I did here, or you could use them separately as well as in conjunction with some of the other sentiments from the set. For instance, you could mix up the sentiments from these first two cards I've shown you to create two new sentiments -- "Mom I just love you" and "Happy Mother's Day Dear Friend". Handy, right?
And last but certainly not least, I also have a fun Color Couture Download for you this month that is jam packed with goodies for you to create with as well as to inspire you!! Not only do you get three exclusive inspiration inserts (that will fit in the Color Couture Inspiration Binder) featuring actual projects the Design Team have created showcasing these new Color Couture goodies, but you also get four artisan card templates and six different downloadable patterned papers! The templates are a classic card shape that you'll be able to use again and again to give your cards a little bit of extra flair and the patterned papers were designed to be extremely versatile for you! Not only do they coordinate with the Color Couture Embellies (Volumes 1, 2 & 3), but they were also designed to work well with lots of other color combinations so you can use them with the Color Couture embellies or without! And the best part is that you can print the papers and templates again and again, as many times as you'd like! That makes this Color Couture Download an amazing value at just $5!!
Each day of the Countdown, besides showing you projects with Delightful Dahlia, I'll also be showing you projects made with this month's Color Couture Download goodies! For tonight, I have a project that features one of the Artisan card templates as well as two of the patterned papers. Notice the pretty bottom edge of the card front -- the artisan shape? That same bottom edge is featured on all 4 of the card templates and the great part is, you get this horizontally oriented template, as well as a vertically oriented template. These are standard A2 sized cards. Plus, you'll get mini versions of these card templates which I will show you later in the week.....and those mini versions are perfectly scaled to fit in Papertrey's gift enclosure envelopes!
Not only did I use an artisan card template to create this card, but I also used one of the two mat layers that are included in the Color Couture March download, to create the patterned paper layers on this card. To create the mat layers from patterned papers, you simply print out the paper of choice (in this case, the spring moss/ripe avocado patterned paper) and then run the patterned paper thru the printer again and print the mat layer template on the patterned paper. Then, you simply cut out the mat layer and adhere it to the front of your card. I used both the spring moss patterned paper here, as well as the pure poppy dotted patterned paper to create the entire background of the card. I also added some Color Couture embellies to the card front including the "Ooh la la!" tag, the scalloped border and the leaves which I tucked behind the pure poppy button. I used vintage touch tea dye ink on each layer of this card to shabby it up just a bit, but if shabby's not really your thing, you can certainly skip that step.
All right, that's all I've got for you today. Are you on information overload??? Hee! I told you there were lots of new Raspberry Suite products being introduced this month! What do you think so far? Is there something that you're super excited about already?
Be sure to visit Nichole's blog as well as Betsy Veldman's for lots of inspiration! You won't want to miss what all she's got to show you! Plus, Melissa Bickford, Heather Nichols, Beth Silaika and Becky Oehlers all have stamp sets coming out this month, so pop over to see peeks at their new sets.
I'll be back tomorrow with lots more fun projects to share with you!
