Hello there! I'm so glad you've stopped by today....I've got lots more fun projects to share with you featuring my newest stamp set, Aloha, as well as a few more Color Couture Embellie projects to share with you too! Let's get right to it!
For this first card, I decided to have a little fun and create a little beach scene using the surf board image from Aloha as well as the sun and clouds images from Nichole's new set, Up, Up & Away! I stamped the sun first (from Up, Up & Away), in the corner of the rustic cream card stock using summer sunrise ink. Next up, I die cut some clouds with the new clouds dies and then stamped them with the clouds images from Up, Up & Away. I adhered them to the cream card stock with foam adhesive. Then I stamped the surf board image from Aloha and colored it with Copic markers. I also used a putty colored Copic to color the sand and went back over it with just a few swipes of the Copic Colorless Blender Pen to get a bit more grainy, sandy look.
The sentiment I chose for this card is one from Scattered Showers and I thought it fit this little beach scene perfectly!
Next up is a pretty little card featuring the hibiscus image from Aloha as well as the "Happy Vacation" sentiment from the set. This card has a few fun and fuzzy felt accents so I've put together a little video for you today, on how to create this card, including tips on how to adhere felt to a card!
The leaf dies from the Delightful Dahlia dies collection are perfectly sized to coordinate with the hibiscus image from Aloha, if you cut the leaves off of the flower after you've stamped it. I also used the Rick Rack die to create that fabulous felt trim.
Next up, how about some Color Couture Embellie projects? Today, you're getting a peek at the Volume 5 color combo that is included in this month's collection of printed embellies -- spring moss, hawaiian shores, ripe avocado, new leaf and white. I created this little set of cards using 4 different circle embellies from the Color Couture Embellies collection and I let those 4 circle embellies set the tone for my cards. Each card has 4 separate elements -- the card base, the ribbon strip, the mat stack 1 die cut and the Color Couture embellie -- plus the white scalloped border and each card also utilizes all four colors. SO, I rotated the colors on each card so that each one includes all 4 of the elements each in the different colors.
The background pattern on the card is one I stamped using versamark ink and a pretty pattern from Background Basics: Tin Types. I used the Mat Stack 1 die to create the label shape and stamped it with the large label image from For The Graduate. Several of the embellies in the Color Couture collection coordinate with a 1 3/4" circle punch and this group of circle embellies just happen to be some of them! That means that you can simply punch these circles out with a circle punch and then layer them perfectly on the label image!
Aren't they so pretty all together? I used the medium scallop border die to create the white scalloped border. The sentiments on these 4 embellies are, "Happy Birthday", "Hello There", "Thank You", and "Cheering You On".
Lastly for today, I have one more card to share with you that features more embellies from the Color Couture Vol. 5 embellie collection. I simply cut out the flower embellies, the fun little sentiment embellie and the trim strip, inked the edges of each with vintage touch tea dye ink and adhered them to the card front.
I added a few rhinestones on and around the flowers to give them a bit of bling.
I don't know if you can see the texture on the white card stock in this photo or not, but I used the new Canvas impression plate on the card base before adhering the embellies. It's such a great way to add an extra little detail to your card without taking away from the overall design.
I hope you've enjoyed today's Aloha and Color Couture cards! I'll be back tomorrow with a couple of posts for you! Can't wait!
Until then, you'll want to be sure and pop over to visit Nichole Heady and Heather Nichols who are both featuring a couple of new stamp sets! And Lisa Johnson, Melissa Bickford, Alli Miles and Beth Silaika all have more projects to share with you showcasing their newest stamp sets!
Have a goodie!! :)
