Hello!
I'm so glad you're here. :) I've got quite a few more projects to share with you today showcasing my new Aloha stamp set as well as more of the new Color Couture Embellies -- all of which will be available at Papertrey Ink beginning on May 15!
First up is a soft and sweet sympathy card featuring the hibiscus image from Aloha. For this card, I paired the flowers with the "With Sympathy" sentiment from Birds of a Feather which I think is just so beautiful.
I stamped the flower/leaves image 6 times -- 3 times on ripe avocado card stock, 2 times on melon berry card stock and once on hibiscus burst card stock. I used Copic markers in the coordinating Papertrey color families to add some highlights to the flowers and leaves and then I cut them out. I cut the flower only on the melon berry and hibiscus burst flowers, discarding the leaves, and I cut out the entire flower/leaves images on the ripe avocado card stock. Then, I layered the flowers over the top of the ripe avocado flowers so they're perfectly lined up and adhered them with foam adhesive. I love how you can create such a striking look by using multiple hibiscus images, with really minimal effort. As a final touch, I dragged the edges of the sentiment panel over my melon berry ink pad, creating a soft melon-colored border to frame the flowers and anchor everything.
Next up is a happy little number using two of the three main images from Aloha -- the hibiscus image as well as the post card image, and I also used the "Mahalo" (meaning thank you) sentiment. The "thank you" that I stamped on the post card is one of the sentiments included in a new sentiment stamp set that Nichole will have more info about later this week. I used the medium scallop border die to create the red border on the left side of the card and I stamped some Polka Dot Basics II behind my flower for a little bit of fun!
I used the same basic technique on this flower as I did on the previous card. I also used coordinating melon berry and ripe avocado Copic markers to color in the flower on the stamp in the post card image. How fun is THAT?! You can color those little stamps to coordinate with any project!
Here's one more Aloha card for today for those of you that don't like to color. I simply stamped the hibiscus in orange zest ink on rustic cream card stock to create my focal point. I added a pink rhinestone to the flower's center and stamped two of the sentiments from Aloha on the same card stock -- "Happy Vacation" and "Hula Girl".
The pattern on the left is one I stamped using an image from Background Basics: Diamonds. I stamped it in orange zest ink on kraft card stock and followed that up with a strip of Dotty Biscotti patterned paper in raspberry fizz along the bottom of the card. The ribbon ruffles were created by laying a strip of 1/2" Scor-Tape on the card stock and simply adhering the ribbon, one ruffle at a time, to the Scor-Tape.
Next up are a couple of Color Couture cards for you. Today's cards feature the Volume 6 collection of embellies. For this one, I stamped a Background Basics: Woodgrain pattern on the hawaiian shores card base using versamark ink. Next up, I adhered two of the Color Couture trim strips from the collection, layering one slightly over the other.
Then, I cut out the "Thank You for being so sweet" embellie and adhered it to the card using foam adhesive. All that was left to do was to add a few rhinestones for a bit of bling. Don't you just love that there are so many cute details in the embellies, that you don't have to go to a lot of work to create cute cards using them?!
Lastly for today is a card with a bit of embellie flower power! Hee. I cut out four of the flowers from the Volume 6 Color Couture Embellies collection as well as two of the leaves. I adhered them all with foam adhesive to a panel of kraft card stock and added a few jumbo rhinestones as well as a threaded pure poppy button to give them a bit more dimension. The "Thinking of You" sentiment is from the Aloha stamp set and the dotted patterned paper in the background is from the new Beautiful Blooms collection.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed today's projects! In case you missed it, this is my second post for today......so be sure to check out my "Handmade & Homemade" post!
