Hi there and welcome to the blog-o! I'm so thrilled that you stopped by today. I've got some more Aloha and Color Couture projects to share with you and a video as well!
First up is a super simple, but very fun card with a little "stack of post cards" on it! I used the post card stamp from the Aloha stamp set to stamp a couple of little post cards. Then, I used a sentiment from the new Inside & Out: Thank you stamp set to stamp a hand-written looking "thank you" on one post card. On the bottom post card, I used the "Girly, You Rock!" sentiment from my Signture Greetings set to also create the look of a post card that has been written on. How fun is that?!! I colored the stamps on the post cards with Copic markers, to coordinate with the new Beautiful Blooms patterned paper. I also cut out two little pieces of the patterned paper in the same size as the post cards, to look as though they're the colorful, pretty sides of two more little post cards!
As for the dotty pattern on the bottom of the card, I used a stamp from Background Basics: Retro and stamped it in Fresh Snow ink. Then, I took a BG13 Copic marker and colored in the center of the smaller circle. Next, I took the BG11 Copic and colored in the larger circle. I love how easy it is to change the look of a stamped image just by adding a little marker color.
Ahhh......next up is a fun little Christmas card!! But first......remember this song by Bing Crosby???
I LOVE Bing Crosby and I love this fun song so when creating an island-themed stamp set, it was a no brainer to include the "Mele Kalikimaka" sentiment which, as the song says, means "Merry Christmas" in Hawaiian!!
I couldn't resist making a Hawaiian-y Christmas card to share with you! The card base is spring moss card stock and I layered a strip of dotted paper from the new Beautiful Blooms collection on the left side of the card followed by a strip of new leaf saddle stitch ribbon. The label shape was cut out with the Mat Stack 1 die. I stamped a leaf image from Turning a New Leaf in versamark ink on the label, followed by the "Mele Kalikimaka" sentiment from Aloha. Then I stamped the surfboard image from Aloha and colored it with Copic markers before cutting it out and layering it on the label. Super fun, huh??
All righty, here's one more Aloha card for you using the hibiscus image. I colored it with the Berry Sorbet and Ripe Avocado Copic Trios and added a bit of shadow to the bottom of the flower with the T1 Copic. I inked the edges of everything with vintage touch tea dye ink and I stamped a pattern from Background Basics: Diamonds on the card base.
I added a bit of the Beautiful Blooms dotted paper along the bottom of the focal panel as well as a strip of pure poppy card stock. The rick rack trim was created by using the Rick Rack die on Vintage Cream felt. I LOVE being able to create felt rick rack in so many different Papertrey colors!
Lastly for today, I have one more card for you -- this one using the Color Couture Embellies-Vol. 6. I stamped the background pattern from Background Basics: Retro with summer sunrise ink on summer sunrise card stock.
I used the new Fillable Frames #4 die to create a little label which I layered the Color Couture embellies on, as well as a Hawaiian Shores button.
And since quite a few of you have asked for videos on making cards, I've put one together for you today, showing how to make this Summertime Hello card!!
Well, I hope that you've enjoyed today's post! Thanks so much to those of you that have taken the time to leave me comments this week -- I read each one and appreciate all of you!
Today, Nichole Heady and Mish Wooderson are featuring a couple of new stamp sets designed by Nichole herself and Heather Nichols, Lisa Johnson, Alli Miles, Melissa Bickford and Beth Silaika will all have more peeks at their new sets as well!
Take care and I'll see you back here tomorrow for one more day of Countdown projects before the big Papertrey release!
