Hi there! Happy FRIDAY to you!! Woohoo! Are you as ready for the weekend as I am??
Have you been enjoying the Papertrey Countdown so far? Well, it's Day 4 already which means August 15th is almost here and all of the new goodies you've been seeing this week will finally be available for sale at Papertrey Ink!
I've got a couple more cards to show you today, both using Color Couture Embellies from this month's release. First up is a "Beautiful Fall" card....the sentiment, large yellow flower and brown leaves are all Color Couture Embellies from the Vol. 9 collection. I cut each one out and layered them on a piece of dark chocolate card stock that I die cut using the Mat Stack 4 die. (Are you as in love with that die by now, as I am???) :)
I added some melon berry buttons to accent the flowers and leaves and layered the whole focal panel on a piece of patterned paper from the It's Official collection. The card base is kraft card stock and I finished things off with a melon berry topnotch twill bow.
Seriously, Color Couture Embellies make whipping up cheery little cards like these, a cinch!
One more.......this one using embellies from the Vol. 8 collection. I started out with an aqua mist card base and to that, I layered a couple of Color Couture trim strips that I cut out and adhered.
Next, I die cut a piece of stamper's select white card stock using the Mat Stack 1 die. Then, I stamped the coordinating label image from For The Graduate using hawaiian shores ink. Then, I used the new Fillable Frames #7 die to cut a piece of dark chocolate card stock that I layered on the Mat Stack 1 shape.
After that, I punched out a circle embellie using a 1 3/4" circle punch and layered it on a scalloped circle punched from hawaiian shores card stock. I adhered the scalloped circle to the frame with foam adhesive. All that was left to do was trim out the sentiment embellie, "Feel better Friend", and adhere it with more foam adhesive. Lots of layers on the focal point on this one but I kept the rest of the card very clean and simple. Don't be afraid of some "white space" on your card. I could have easily stamped something all over the card front and filled in that space on the card base, however sometimes it's nice to leave that white space and let the eye really be drawn to the focal point of the card.
Well, I certainly hope you have a fabulous weekend. The fun's not over around here yet though, so be sure to stop back by tomorrow -- I get to help introduce to you, two more new stamp sets in the August Papertrey line-up and I can't wait! I've even got a fun home decor project to share with you!!
Until then, Nichole Heady, Mish Wooderson and Debbie Olson all have sneak peeks to share with you today! AND, don't forget that Heather Nichols, Alli Miles, Beth Silaika and Tiffany Pastor will also have more peeks at their newest stamp sets.
Have a fabulous day, sweet friends!
