Hello there, dear friends! It's Papertrey Countdown time again which means that for the next 5 days, there will be all KINDS of Papertrey crafty inspiration to be found all around blogland. Nichole Heady will be showcasing all of the new products being released this month and several of the stamp designers and design team members will have fun sneak peeks for you as well so I hope you'll come by and visit me each day and be sure to hop around too, to see all of the goodies that will be available for purchase beginning on August 15 at Papertrey Ink.
For starters around here, I've got some peeks for you at the newest printed embellies in the Color Couture Collection! August is a "print month" for Color Couture, rather than a "download month", so that means that this month, there will be a collection of 15 pages of printed embellies and trims, 3 color swatch dividers and 9 inspiration pages featuring never-before-seen cards and instructions by Betsy Veldman, Melissa Phillips and myself. All of those goodies have been printed and packaged up for you and will be available on the 15th for just $12!!

FUN, huh?
I used some of these goodies on the card you saw at the top of this post. For the card, I started out with a hibiscus burst card stock base and then layered on a paper doily from the cake decorating section at Hobby Lobby. Next up, I cut out a flower, two leaves, a butterfly and a pretty sentiment -- all from the Vol. 7 Color Couture collection -- that I layered on the doily, adding a threaded white button and some rhinestones to accent those layers. The finishing touch was to add a strip of dotty trim also from the Color Couture Vol. 7 collection along the bottom of the card.
Next up is a simple little card that features quite a few new items on it! Can you spot them all????
I started out with an aqua mist card base and added a strip of ripe avocado card stock down the center of the card front. Next, I layered on two of the trim strips from the Color Couture Vol. 7 collection. Then I added a new die cut piece of harvest gold card stock (you're gonna LOVE this die -- stay tuned to Nichole's blog this week for more information about that!). Next up is a fun flourishy stamp from a new set by Tiffany Pastor, stamped in aqua mist ink on stamper's select white card stock. Then I used Heather Nichol's new Fillable Frames #7 stamp and coordinating die to create the aqua mist layer.
The ripe avocado scalloped circle was stamped with a Marvy punch and to that I added a decorative circle embellie from Color Couture Vol. 7, which I punched out with a 1 3/4" circle punch. I topped that off with a threaded ripe avocado button and tucked in a little sentiment tag that is stamped with one of the sentiments from Fillable Frames #7.
I love that while there are a lot of curvy, rounded corners on this card, the colors are such that it could still be easily used as a thank you card for a man if the need arose.
