Hello there!!! Welcome to the first day of Papertrey's October countdown. I'm so pleased to show you the first sneak peeks at the newest stamp set in my Raspberry Suite line-up, called On Ice. There are actually several new Raspberry Suite products being released this month, so you'll want to be sure to stay tuned all week, to get the first peeks at all of them! *wink* Note: All of the new products you'll be getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on October 15.
On Ice is a fun, winter themed stamp set featuring an adorable ice skate image as well as 5 different coordinating sock images that can be stamped above the skate so that it looks as though the sock is peeking out of the skate! There is also a small pom pom image that can be stamped on the toe of the skate or on the end of the shoe string. On Ice also contains 11 different sentiments covering a wide variety of occasions, making this a handy little stamp set that packs a versatile punch, especially for just $15! I'm excited to share with you, lots of fun projects this week. There are quite a few different things you can do with these little skates and I can't wait for you to see them all! You don't have to be a skater to have fun with this stamp set!!
First up today is a card showing you not only the adorable ice skate image, but 3 of the sock images as well. The "Wishing you all the joys that winter holds" sentiment is also from On Ice.
I stamped the cutie little pom pom image 6 times cutting each one out and then adhered them to the toes of the skates with a bit of foam adhesive.
Another exciting product being released this month is a On Ice Die that coordinates with the On Ice stamp set. The die cuts out room for both the skate and sock images together. Simply die cut your paper, stamp the skate first lining up the little triangle on the die with the triangle on the image and then stamp the sock of your choice last.
On this card, you can see an example of the On Ice die in action. I can't even begin to tell you how fun and easy it is to die cut these little skates and socks! And when you start stamping those socks in different colors.....well, it's just too much fun!
The "Wishing you a cozy winter birthday" sentiment is another from On Ice. The background paper I used on this card is one from a new collection being released this month, designed by Heather Nichols -- I'm in love with it! Nichole will have more info on that later this week, as well as info about that pretty new border you see on the bottom of this card! I also used the small scallop border die to add another layer of trim and tied a knot of pure poppy topnotch twill just above the trims.
I stamped the skate in true black ink and then used a Copic marker to color in the blade. The sock and pom pom were stamped in ripe avocado ink.
Another thing I'm excited to share with you during this countdown is the various elements from the newest Color Couture download. The card templates, in particular, are some that I think you just might find to be beautiful and extremely versatile. I'm thrilled to share with you the Doily Card Template. There are two different Doily Card Templates in this month's download -- you'll get a peek at the other one later in the week, and both Doily Card Templates come in two sizes. That's 4 card templates plus 6 downloadable patterned papers and 3 inspiration pages with full color photos and complete instructions for creating 3 more never before seen cards designed by Melissa Phillips, Betsy Veldman and myself. And all of those goodies are included in the Color Couture download for just $5!!
So back to this Doily Card Template......in the photo above, you can see what the card looks like after I printed it on vintage cream card stock and then cut it out.
The thing that makes these Doily Card Templates so special is that they were designed to allow you to easily use punches along the scallops, creating a custom doily edge along the bottom of the card! In this particular case, I used a 1/8" circle punch to punch the larger holes and a 1/16" circle punch to punch the smaller holes. Don't you just LOVE how pretty this card is already? With such a beautiful, delicate edge on the card front, you don't even have to add a lot of embellishments to create a really pretty card. I chose to keep it simple when creating this next card....
See what I mean? Very simple, but SO striking, don't you think? I used a new sentiment stamp set coming out this month to stamp both sentiments and inked the edges with a bit of vintage touch tea dye ink.
Behind the "'Tis the Season" sentiment, I layered a couple of other new goodies.....another patterned paper from the collection I mentioned before, as well as an adorable new die cut shape. Love, love, LOVE this die. Did I mention that I love it?! :)
All righty, that's all I've got for you today, but you'll want to be sure to head over to Nichole Heady's blog for her first sneak peeks this month. Betsy Veldman and Erin Lincoln will also be featuring new goodies today. Heather Nichols and Alli Miles will have peeks for you at their newest stamp sets as well.
I hope you'll join me tomorrow for more On Ice and Color Couture peeks, plus I might have another something-or-other up my sleeve! ;) See you soon!
