Hello there! Are you enjoying the Papertrey Countdown so far? I've got some more fun goodies to share with you today!
First up is a cutie little gift tag using the On Ice stamp set and die, but with a bit of a twist! I started out by using the tag sale #1 die to cut out a tag from kraft card stock. I layered a bit of neutral dotty patterned paper from the Distressed Dots collection and stamped the "Wishing you a cozy Winter Birthday" sentiment on the bottom of the tag. To that, I added a doily die cut from raspberry fizz card stock and stitched a 1.75" circle of red distressed dots paper to it.
Now for the fun little twist! Notice the sock peeking out from the skate?? It's raspberry fizz FELT!!! How fun is that?! I die cut the skate from vintage cream card stock using the new On Ice die. The skate was stamped in true black ink and then I stamped a pink pom pom on the toe and colored the blade in with a gray Copic marker.
Then I cut off the sock portion from the die cut. I ran the die thru my Big Shot again, this time with felt. I didn't cut out the entire skate from felt -- I was able to just use a tiny scrap of felt and cut out the sock only, with just a bit of the boot shaft as well. This allowed me to adhere the "sock" to the back side of the skate with just a little scor-tape. Oh my Lordy bees, I love this look! You could make little felt socks in any color you'd like!
All that was left to do was tie the tag to the gift bag using a bit of pure poppy topnotch twill ribbon. You could easily crank out a stack of these fun little gift tags to have them handy when you're ready to wrap Christmas gifts.
Next up is another little On Ice card.....on this one, I stitched more of the distressed dots patterned paper to the vintage cream card base. (I'm so sorry but I'm in love with that patterned paper! I can't seem to stop using it!)
I stamped the square frame from the Framed stamp set on a bit of pure poppy card stock and added the "Frosty Fun" sentiment from On Ice to the blank space in the frame....a perfect fit!
As for the skate itself, I stamped the skate in true black, colored the blade with a Copic and stamped the damask sock in pure poppy ink. On this card, I stamped the pom pom image on the end of the shoestring for a little bit different look.
Lastly for today is a gift set of little thank you notes, featuring one of the smaller Doily Card Templates from the Color Couture October Download. I so loved the look of the first Doily Card I showed you in my Day 1 post this week, so I wanted these little note cards to have a similar look with the vintage cream card base. I love, love, love the doily edge on these cards!
I created a set of 4 note cards. They measure 3 1/2" x 5" each. I used the same hole punch technique on the edges of the card bases and then followed up with a bit of vintage touch tea dye ink.
I die cut a bit of berry sorbet card stock with the mat stack 4 die and then stamped the fun label image from Everyday Treats in versamark ink. Next up, I used another of my favorite new dies that Nichole designed to die cut the pure poppy card stock layer followed by a 1.75" circle of vintage cream card stock. The sentiment -- "Thank you, Sweet Friend" is one from On Ice and can certainly be used year round!! I finished things off with a few rhinestones from Kaiser Scrapbook and Me & My Big Ideas.
I created this little set of note cards to give as a gift this Christmas so.....one gift DONE! :) I love giving note card sets like this.......cards that the recipient will be able to have on hand whenever they need a card to send. Love a pretty gift that's useful too!
I tucked the note cards in one of Papertrey's clearly creative card boxes and added a bit of distressed dots patterned paper to the front as well as a berry sorbet grosgrain bow.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed today's posts. (If you missed my 2nd post for today, scroll up to see my Quick & Easy Gifts post!)
